My listing not showing up in search

I created my shop within the last 2 weeks, and I currently have 2 listings, one for a moss pole and one for aroid mix.

Both listings have "Moss Pole" and "Aroid Mix" as the first 2 words of their titles, as well as appearing in the tags and descriptions.
However, whenever I or my friends try to search for my listings in Etsy search, using "moss pole" or "aroid mix" respectively, my listings just do not appear.
Even when I sorted "price: low to high" and clicked through each page, my listing just did not show up.
My listings only appear if additional terms are added, like "half moon moss pole", "d shaped moss pole", "24" moss pole", "chunky aroid mix", "aroid potting soil". My friends and I tried different devices, browsers, while logged in, while not logged in, but this problem persisted. This problem was not always there. On the day I opened my shop, everything worked fine, and some people even visited my listings with the terms "moss pole" and "aroid mix".

Very strangely, both listings appear on etsy.com/market/, but not on etsy.com/search.

Etsy support insisted that my listings not showing up at all was "perfectly normal" and when I asked if I could speak with the technical team or their manager, the person, Guillermo, did not reply and instead disconnected from the chat.

Re: My listing not showing up in search

This is not a technical issue, it's just how Etsy works.

Competition on Etsy is fierce, especially for broad keywords. Other more established shops are likely out-competing in you in search because they have an established pattern of sales (the most important thing for search right now). I see many, many shops selling "Aroid mix" items.

Your listings are indexed. That means that they are in the mix somewhere, but maybe not high enough to appear on the first few pages of general search.

Every account on Etsy has it's own specific search and sales history. This affects what you see come up in search - what you see is NOT what I would see, or your friends, etc.

Add more listings. Finish every area of your shop and listings to have a better chance of ranking higher in search.

Ask for a Critique in the appropriate section of the Forum to see where your shop can improve (for example, adding an About section with photos).

Advertise off of Etsy to draw your own sales.

Good luck.

Re: My listing not showing up in search

I would completely understand if my listings were not on the first few pages, but what confuses me is the fact that they do not show up on any page. I sorted price low to high and still did not find my listings. What is weirder is that they used to show up a few days ago.

Re: My listing not showing up in search

If you've been checking every once in a while to see where your items show up in a search, the system will think you're not interested in your listings since you didn't click on it or purchase.  So when you search again, you'll be shown different things.

Your potting soil might do better if you put it in the Plant Accessories > Soil category instead of Plants > House Plants.

Have you researched how much shipping will be for both your items?    They're very low considering the sizes and weights of them.

@FloraFolius: Keep in mind that if everyone on this forum searched for the exact same phrase they would all get different results. Because of "personalized searches" you can NOT rely on anyone's search results to define how your listing is ranked. There are many many factors that affect listing placement and the relative weight of each factor probably changes constantly. Even exact word matches to your title no longer ensure that you will appear in search.

"... what confuses me is the fact that they do not show up on any page." Your listing may be appearing on page 251 and Etsy is only showing the first 250 pages to the world.

"... they used to show up a few days ago." When the algorithm keeps seeing that you are not purchasing the items it shows you it will eventually stop showing those items to you.
