My email address set for my shop was closed by google and it was denied reinstatement, I tried to change my email in my Etsy settings but a confirmation code is being sent to the old email and I can't access it. I sent an Email to Etsy hoping for a quick resolution, has anyone experienced this issue? Google stated my email was created by a robot and being used by many businesses.

I've definitely experienced permanent account closure. Email account had an old phone number on it, and I no longer had that phone number (out of state number), so I couldn't access the phone being sent the confirm code. The other "verification methods" were simply not available or "not good enough" for google. So, google's known for permanently closing accounts. I don't use google for "essential" email, and non-delivery issues gmail seems to have.

Thank you for the tip, I'll make sure I use a different email platform. Did you have to start all over again setting up or did Etsy give you access to make the changes?

You may have been hacked, and the hackers were using your email address to spam a bunch of people.

Try contacting Etsy for help.

I did send Etsy an email for more assistance. I'm currently waiting on response and access to change my email. Thank you

I had this same problem.  Google shut down an email for a second shop I wanted to create.  I tried contacting Etsy because I had no access to the old account to change the email to a new email address.  No luck.  3 weeks later I just said $crew it and deleted the etsy shop.  I have no idea how this company even operates without answering requests from sellers. 

If I had the time and energy, I think I would take up a mission to find a senator to introduce a bill requiring websites like Etsy and Amazon and Ebay to have PUBLISHED and FUNCTIONING human customer service available.  It seems as though if sellers are required to provide contact information, websites ought to have that information publicly available as well.

I am having the very same issue!! Google locked my email today... sent a verification number to my recently deceased husbands' phone which, of course, he no longer has... Made a new email... Trying to change it on Etsy but Etsy is sending the verification code to the email I can't access!! How incredibly STUPID!! I've reached out for help from Etsy... 1-2 day waiting period. Also stupid. They rely on our small businesses to EXSIST and this is how we're treated. I'm beside myself with frustration!!

Do you use that email regularly? Gmail is now closing email addresses that have not been accessed in a certain period of time. They implemented this sometime in the last 6 months or so, I can't remember when exactly.

You should create your own post so you will get better help - board mods may close this thread since it's old.

I had this happen ( unaccessible email) There was a link to follow if you couldn't get the code from the old email. 6-8 weeks of no answer. I reached out to Chat and clearly stated my issue and asked them to pass me on to the correct team and to contact me at xyz address. They got back to me via that email and it was fixed in a day BUT that secondary email was attached to one of my other Etsy shops so they could tell it was "me". They still made me verify some stuff to prove I wasn't a hacker (as they should). SO I would say try chat.
