On August 29th, I received an email from Etsy saying “Your funds are on the way”. However, it has now been over 25 days, and this deposit has neither arrived in my bank account nor returned to my Etsy Payment Balance. I’m very worried and don’t know where the funds are stuck.
This is not the first time I’ve experienced this. Since February this year, I’ve been trapped in a terrible cycle:
• Funds are sent out
• They fail to reach my bank account
• The money is returned to Etsy Payments
• I update my bank account information
• I receive small verification deposits and confirm my account
• Etsy sends the funds again
• They fail to reach my account…
Previously, whenever funds failed, they would return to my Etsy Payment Balance within about 3 weeks. But this time, it’s already been more than 3 weeks, and nothing has come back. This is making me extremely anxious.
I have been unable to receive my sales revenue for over 6 months now. I’ve been selling on Etsy for more than 4 years, and everything was normal before February. These last 6 months have been exhausting and financially devastating. I’ve been in constant contact with both my bank and Etsy Support, but the issue has never been resolved.
I’ve seen some sellers with similar problems post here and receive follow-up from Etsy’s financial team, which helped them finally get their money. I urgently need the same kind of support.
At this point, I don’t even know where 6 months’ worth of sales revenue has gone, and it has put me in a very difficult financial situation. If any sellers here have gone through the same issue and successfully resolved it, please share your advice. I would be deeply grateful.
Update – Day 26
I’ve contacted my bank and they confirmed my account is fine. I also successfully received the small verification deposits before, so the account itself works.
My bank asked me to provide an MT103 form so they can trace the funds, but Etsy Support told me they cannot provide this. I have already submitted my bank statement to show that I never received the August 29th deposit.
At this point, I feel completely stuck. It has now been 26 days, and the funds have neither arrived in my bank account nor returned to my Etsy Payment Balance.
Please, I urgently need Etsy Financial Support to look into this.
@QYbagShop I'm so sorry you're having this problem. I don't know if this is the case with you, but in the past, some Sellers had issues with their Deposits being returned due to a coding error on Etsy's part (checking vs. savings and vice versa). Lets see if an Admin can get you some help. I do hope so.

Thank you for your suggestion. I really don’t know where the problem is. I’ve been selling on Etsy for 4 years, and everything was working fine before February. Since then, I’ve fallen into this situation and I honestly don’t understand why.
I’ve seen that other Sellers with similar experiences were eventually able to get their issues resolved, but I am still stuck here.
Right now, I just want to know where the August 29th deposit is stuck. Even if it failed to reach my bank, if it could at least return to my Etsy Payment Balance, I wouldn’t be feeling so anxious.
@QYbagShop Are you saying that you have not had a deposit since February or that you have had issues since February, but did, eventually, receive funds?
You are based in Hong Kong. There have been other Sellers reporting Etsy Payment Deposit issues for Shops based in Hong Kong and the issue seemed to be caused by the type of Bank Account linked to the Shop and /or how address details were entered and verifird

BTW Deposits are not initiated by Etsy. It is the Third Party Payment Provider which sends the funds and any issue has to be passed to them

You are right, I am based in Hong Kong. I actually saw the post you mentioned where the seller finally got the issue resolved, and that gave me hope. That’s why I’m posting here — I really wish that the right Etsy Staff can notice my case. I would especially like to get in touch with Myrielle from Etsy’s Finance Department (the seller mentioned in her case), but I don’t know how to reach her.
