My 2-Year-Old Key List has been deactivated by ETSY.

Hello,

My list, which I have been actively selling for 2 years and designed and handmade by myself, was deactivated for a reason I do not understand. No information e-mail or notification was sent to me. I talked to the live chat about the deactivated list but there was no solution. I want to reactivate my list because I checked my list repeatedly and there was nothing against any ETSY policy. Is there a way I can do this? Thank you in advance for your help.

Best

Isla

Re: My 2-Year-Old Key List has been deactivated by ETSY.

I don't know what a key list is, but does it have anything to do with Etsy updating its Creativity Standards as of June 10 without telling anyone? Cindy Lou describes what changed on her Patreon post here: https://www.patreon.com/posts/131323500

I have seen posts about erroneous take downs of handmade products and products not listed under party supplies that have been taken down for violating party supply standards. https://community.etsy.com/t5/Technical-Issues/Etsy-automation-system-erroneously-removed-my-listing...

It is as if anything could happen.

My guess would be: bestselling listing.

If you reactivate something without getting approval from Etsy first, you will most likely see the item immediately removed again. I'm not sure what a "key list" is either, but perhaps check into the updated creativity standards to see if anything there applies. Other sellers have posted here this week about removals. I know one shop had items automatically reinstated, so it's possible bots are removing items by mistake too.

Re: My 2-Year-Old Key List has been deactivated by ETSY.

@BraceletMarketShop: "... selling for 2 years ..." Unfortunately immaterial. Etsy let a lot of violations slide for a very long time, and now the rules have changed again and it is clear that Etsy has stepped up enforcement of the rules.

"... designed and handmade by myself ..." False positives aside, the violation can be anything from a 'prohibited' word in your title, description, or tags, to a non-conforming primary image, to being misclassified in core details, to intellectual property infringements, and lot in between.

One ongoing issue is if someone has stolen your images and is using them on their site. Another one is that rules for Hand Assembled also say "to create a unique end-product". So if two shops are putting the same charm on the same chain only one of them can be unique.

Hopefully someone will review your listing and reactivate it, however based on other threads this review may take some time.

I think they mean listing, not list.

All you sell is bracelets..I am confused. If a bracelet listing was removed, probably because the Ai photo bot found its photo used on Temu or Ali etc. Search that items' photo online.

Also many supply items had their categories removed on the 10th..and even handmade sellers had similar items removed.  How does one list a list??

Some people use word list instead of listing.  Kind of like using sell instead of sale.

I'm sorry I didn't clarify. When I said "key listing" I meant a best-seller listing. I appreciate your responses. I double-checked that my listing complies with ETSY policies, but I'll look into the possibility that my images have been used elsewhere. But I'm really confused about how to handle this situation.

@BraceletMarketShop

The bottom line is :You probably cannot do much of anything about this. IT happens all the time to sellers here. About the only thing you can do is set up shop elsewhere to sells that and any other item that is delisted by etsy.

The chances of getting a listing reinstated here is somewhere between slim and none.

Realize some nefarious people will skim Etsy for Best sellers, steal the pics and sell them elsewhere. Then the Ai bot sees the pic and figures YOU are the one buying on Temu etc. to resell here.. Search the photos of that listing and see if they are elsewhere on the internet. If there was NOTHING suspect about your listing, I might make a new listing of it with new photos..BUT you lose all the sales data that item had and if something else set off the not allowed removal you risk another removal and shop closure. Better to get any stolen photos removed and try to have Etsy reactivate it. That might also remove the take down black mark. Good luck!
