Missing revenue from sales – is this normal?

Hi everyone,
I recently recorded two sales on the platform. The first one was for €29.50, but it shows up in my payments account as only €24.50. The second sale was €22, but the amount listed is just €18.

This is before any selling fees or taxes are applied or deducted. That means I’m missing around €9 in total before anything else is applied, and I have no idea why.

Has anyone experienced this before? Can someone explain what’s going on?
I feel like this is really unfair and quite confusing.

Thanks in advance!

Yes but they were already accounted in the order recap.

The sale page under the Orders may show the Buyer's currency, and your Payment Account will show yours.  Could that be the difference?

Could that justify such a large difference in amount? As I check the currency values online there seems to be incongruence still.

Did you happen to change the listing price from 24.50 to 29.50 recently? Some of us are finding price changes we made on Etsy recently are reverting back to the old (previous) prices…

No...the strange thing is, on the order receipt the (discounted) amount looks correct, while in my monthly statement is reported as a different random amount.

Hi Yes, I’ve noticed something similar before. Sometimes the difference is due to currency conversion rates or regional pricing  included in buyer's total but not shown in seller’s net). Also, check if the buyer used a coupon or discount — that affects the total shown.

It’s definitely confusing at first! I recommend downloading the full order details or payment report to see the exact breakdown.hope this help a bit

Thank you very much, I'm also afraid about the currency being the issue, but that would mean the conversion rate used is quite different from the official one. And that practice doesn't look correct.

You're welcome! Yes, I totally understand your concern — the conversion rates used by platforms like Etsy especially through payment processors are often slightly different from the official exchange rates, and they may include a hidden margin.
It’s frustrating, I agree. Maybe try contacting Etsy support directly with screenshots — they can give a clearer breakdown of how your payout was calculated. hope it gets sorted soon
