Message ETSY is saying I missed a request for help sent by the buyer. However the request from buyer was just a thank you and did not require an answer. This caused me to miss on my Star Seller rating. Can this be corrected?
All initial messages need a reply or be marked as spam. It does not matter who sent it or why. It has always worked this way.

It did not require a response unless you wanted to keep the star seller badge. If you wanted the badge then you needed to respond.
All NEW messages need a response. Either a reply or sent to spam. A "Thank You" can be followed with "You are welcome!"
Sorry you were blindsided by this.
EVERY message requires an answer, or a spam report where applicable, within 24 hrs, if you want the SS badge. No-one reads your messages, the AI filter simply compares the receipt and response time stamps to determine compliance. You can set auto reply for 5 days at a time and the auto reply counts as a response, or use snippets to make a quick response to messages you determine don't need a response. 3 clicks of the mouse will do it. Or you can spam the message (but that is perhaps not a good message to send to your customers).
Bottom line, if you want the badge you must make the effort. Messaging is the only criteria that sellers can absolutely control.
