I received a poor grade for lack of response in 24 hours that is still coming up in my star seller status, someone messaged me on December 31st, 2022, and I did not respond on January 1st 2023 because it was a holiday and I didn't visit my shop to check. When is that going to finally disappear, and is there absolutely no way to give grace for not responding on a statutory holiday? Must we be in our shop 24/7 including Christmas Day too? Seems like I can very well be a star seller without taking a mental health break away from my shop on a statutory holiday like any regular brick and mortar shop.
@PatchitCanada: "... someone messaged me on December 31st, 2022 ..." That means the 24 hour reply window closed on January 1 2023 and this message will count for your April star (January, February and March activity) but will drop off for the May star (February, March and April activity). If looking at the CSV file, remember that it and the Star Seller stats are in UTC not your time zone.
You can set an auto-responder if you know you'll be away or want a break - that will satisfy the Star Seller requirement of an immediate reply but this is not a long term setting, you will need to maintain it for specific days as I think the max is either 5 or 7 days.
So if you want to be on a holiday for Christmas, you might set the automatic message for December 23-26...
It will disappear from your star seller score after three months.
There is no grace period -- replies must be made within 24 hours, no matter what day it is or what the message is about.
You don't have to be online constantly -- just once every 24 hours.
If you can't do that, you can set up an auto reply.
The whole scoring system is messed up, but there are pretty strict rules, so you have to find a way to work within them.
I guess Etsy figures we're online shops and the internet never sleeps.
Like other said, you can set up an auto reply for when you won't be available to answer messages.
I should expire at the end of this month and if nothing else comes up and you qualify you should have your star seller badge for April. When I don't want to check messages or can't for some reason I set up automatic response and that seems to work fine for star seller.
