Messages for last several days of November not included in my rating

Jump to solution

Why are the last several days of messages not included in my Star Seller rating?  According to your posted metrics, messages for September, October, and November should be included.  My rating was removed because those messages were not included.

''Messages sent on the last two days of the 3-month review period may be excluded from the current review period and counted towards the next period instead. This is to allow Sellers a full 24 hours to respond and not be penalized for messages received late on the final day of the review period.''

@LoveTheLookStudio: "My rating was removed because those messages were not included." Star Seller is in UTC not your time zone so what is November 30 to you may be December 1 to Star Seller. More probably the message was not counted because a new incoming thread is not included until after the 24 hour reply window has passed regardless of when you replied. If you look at the applicable CSV file available on your Star Seller page you can see the dates / times in UTC.

"... the intent/actuality does not matter to Etsy ..." The Star Seller metric for messages is very simplistic and binary - either you replied to (or marked as SPAM) that first message of a new incoming thread within 24 hours or you did not.

Of more concern to you should be that it appears that you are reselling some items (i.e Liberty of London face mask cover) and marking them as handmade - which if it is the case would be in violation of Etsy rules. If you have not yet done so, you might want to read https://www.etsy.com/legal/policy/reselling/239324376512

What about being penalized for NOT having them included...that seems equally punitive - especially since the only reason it was an issue was because I responded to a buyer (and resolved their issue) within an hour in September - just accidentally not through the "I have a problem" methodology.  The seller was sending a flurry of messages back and forth - seems that since the intent/actuality does not matter to Etsy when on my side, the intent/actuality of that three month period should be a valid matter.

Yes, they still show November 29th and 30th in UTC.

"... the intent/actuality does not matter to Etsy ..."

Buyer sent two messages in both DM and in "I have a problem" in the space of 5 minutes.  I replied in the DM and took care of her problem immediately.  Yet because I accidentally didn't reply to both her DM AND the "I have a problem,"  I am being penalized.  The INTENT of the system is to assure excellent customer service, which I clearly provided.

Of more concern to you should be that it appears that you are reselling some items (i.e Liberty of London face mask cover) and marking them as handmade - which if it is the case would be in violation of Etsy rules.

Liberty of London sells a very special Tana Lawn cotton fabric.  I handmake mask covers and scarves from their fabric.   But thanks for your concern....

@LoveTheLookStudio: "Yes, they still show November 29th and 30th in UTC." The message(s) from the 29th probably should have counted but the 24 hour reply window for the message(s) from the 30th would not close until December 1 and thus would be excluded for the December star.

"But thanks for your concern...." I think I worded my original comment poorly. I just meant that perhaps you should specifically state that you manufacture these yourself. Based on other posts in this forum the image reverse search bots seem to be running amok and your Amazon shop images may trigger a not handmade deactivation.
