On my star seller panel Etsy says that my from answer in less than 24h is 67%, But the message I Didn't answer was a Spam.
I actually didn't classified as a Spam because I couldn't find how to do it on Etsy Seller app (I Just had my computer back today).
As now I already classified it as a Spam, my rate will be back to normal?
Is there any way to send it directly to spam from the Etsy seller app?
It may go back up now you've sent that message to spam. It did for me a few months ago when a similar thing happened with my messages. Good luck with this too.
For some unknown reason Etsy has not listed the Spam on the App and also the "From Etsy" in messages where you look to see if messages are spam garbage or real Etsy messages. These are both very important to have, but for some reason they don't come with the app only when you use a browser.???

Just an update: I didn’t classify as spam but I sent it to Trash immediately(only option available in the app)
Yeah if you didn't mark it as spam or answer it, even marking it with a .# etc.will work, otherwise it will ding you. And if gone no way to go to browser and mark as spam. The app is not all its cracked up to be I only use it for cha-things, or to see what other noise message when out and about, otherwise I use my safari browser.
yeah it's gone. you can't get it back to spam it. I know cuz I did that in my other shop.
I had another scam message yesterday with fake Etsy pages and l was on desk top and tryed to mark it as spam and spam would not work. I tried 3 times and spam would not respond atall. Same time l was getting the flag from Etsy to respond to so no choice but to reply no thanks then binned it. If l had not responded it would of counted against message response rate. Spam would not work atall and definitely not . One of the logos had a Etsy support staff with headphones on. Rest of it looked genuine.
The fact you cannot mark a message as spam on the orange sellers' app is a serious flaw on Etsy's part. Also that the 'from Etsy' message section not being visible on the orange sellers' app is just unforgivable. You can mark as spam on the blue buyers' app or from a browser view on your device but how a 'tech' company like Etsy can't provide even this most basic features on their app is ridiculous.
The same thing happened to me last month when l got spammed for the first time and l didn’t realise I had to put it in spam and not trash. Etsy marked my response message rate down to 75%. Now one month on and six more spam messages have come my way and marked immediately as spam by me but Etsy still have not corrected my message response rate. I’ve also received normal messages from buyers and responded immediately. I think this is really poor that my one time in three years I put a message in the wrong place and I’ve been heavily penalised.
Did you check if the spam message is still in your trash folder? If so, you should be able to mark the message as spam.
