The new message process does not log messages in the order screen. When contacting a customer from the order screen, the message is not retained, instead showing that there are no messages related to the order, which is incorrect. We need to be able to see messages related to orders in the order screen, not jump to messages and have to search for the customer there to find the thread. I have already encountered multiple customers with the same user name, making it even more difficult to quickly discern the correct message. There is also the issue of more than one order for different products from the same customer with separate details being discussed in messages. Having them grouped together will lead to confusion.

Well said, I agree with all of your points. It is ridiculous to ruin the functionality of the crucial message system, just because of the star seller badge requirements.
So true. But I guess they got tired of all the whining!

There are quite a few threads about this and an answer from Etsy https://community.etsy.com/t5/Technical-Issues/UPDATE-Messages-appear-to-not-send-when-responding-fr... Hopefully they are also working on at least having the message thread appear on the latest order (or maybe all orders).
