I got a new message a few hours ago, but it was a message that I had sent to a buyer thanking them for the order and estimated shipping time. And the message I originally sent was on the 14th, not today. I am going to get dinged on star seller for not replying to this message, I feel if I reply to the message it won't make sense to the buyer. Has this happened to anyone else? I've been having some really strange things happen lately and doesn't seem that Etsy is there to help at all.
Same thing here. I replied to the messages, explaining what happened. Both buyers got back to me with real messages. I think you only get dinged if it's a first time message from a buyer to you.
I just had a message I sent to a customer 15 days ago appear in my inbox as a new message. Weird. I don't see any reason to reply because it was a message I sent thanking them for their order. I hope it's not going to mess up our message response rate. If I was to reply to it ... where is it going to go ??? back to me??

People telling us to reply: there is no message to reply to. It is simply my thank you message to the buyer appearing as if they sent it to me.

I'm getting messages I sent tu customers in March as new messages in my inbox today...
I started having the same thing happen to me yesterday. Just came on here to check and see why this is happening. Looks like I'm getting these new messages when the order is marked as delivered in Etsys system. Its the strangest thing

4 more today. Every time a customer sends me a message, it shows up with 2 old messages that are already delivered, like they are new messages.
I got one last night, and just got 6 more. What is going on?
I have several of these, too. Not a huge glitch, in the grand scheme of things, but she's a glitch, girls.

Me, too Exactly the same thing on three different customers. It seems that the order was delivered today (or yesterday in the case of the messages received yesterday.)
Bump, this is happening to us too now. Messages sent from us to buyers from about a week ago.
Yesterday I had one, today I had 5. All from myself.
I did not reply to the one from yesterday because I'm not irritating a client over fear of losing the purple star but I was also curious to see if it had any impact. So far, no but who knows today. It's Etsy, always the unknown.

Yes I have had the same happen to me this afternoon, they sent back the original message I had sent on receiving their order, I just replied thanking them for their order and glad that it has arrived safely,

Just received one now, a message I sent to my customer on the 7th of April (today is the 26th) and it says it was sent from my customer (not from me to her) and it says it's a new message to be replied to, replying makes me look incompetent... something wrong with etsy all the time.
@meltheart Was it a Gmail account? The message may have been undeliverable and was bounced back.
I think I have every message I ever sent in my in-box right now, 16 pages of them.

I had another 7 this morning can't reply to them all the time and hope they get this sorted quickly and it doesn't affect the star seller because of it.
