Message s not visible or real?

Hi , 

Can anyone help or advise me what to do, Ok my Etsy logo shows I have 5 messages in the orange circle , I go to my messages and there aren’t any . This has only just happened, Im wondering if the reason may be yesterday I sent a thank you message to a customer . I included for the first time the Etsy link to my shop in the message. Previously I have had 5 messages between myself and the customer , so not sure if the system has picked this up some how , and treating the 5 messages as new ones !!!. I thought if I deleted the messages it may clear the 5 bogus ones but has not , also I have logged in and out my account and still not cleared the problem. Not sure what to do next , appreciate any advise

Do you have any notifications on your dashboard that can be x'd out?

I have 3 notifications from that particular customer 1 favourited 1 purchased 1 Review, if thats what you mean , I do not know how you can delete them out if thats what you mean , sorry
