Hi, it says my message response rate is 89% but this is false. It should be 100%, I have not missed a message response in the first 24 hours. I don't know why it directed me to a public forum to seek assistance for this issue.

@LarkandLullaby: Check the applicable CSV file from your Star Seller page to see which message(s) Etsy thinks you answered late. Remember that the file (and Star Seller stats) is in UTC not your time zone, only the first message of a new incoming thread is included, and usually a new thread is not included until after the 24 hour reply window has passed regardless of when you replied.

You can download you stats but believe some of the moderators are able to see them as well. It should tell you in your stats exactly which messages have dinged you down, if they show 100% I would send a copy to Etsy
They send sellers to forum, because they say they won't change star seller stats and they don't want to deal.
This. The only assistance in the forums is other sellers telling you the bad news that Etsy won't fix it.

If you got any messages from other sellers those count too. In your SS stats area there is a place to check the csv to see what they think you missed.
I missed out on a star seller badge because I received a shipping update AS A BUYER regarding something I purchased on Etsy, and did not reply. I brought this up and no change yet. I doubt they care to spend the money to fix this obvious oversight, so it can be resolved by robotically replying “thanks” to every message or better yet don’t buy things on Etsy - buy them on their competitor’s sites instead since they don’t seem to want to fix the issue.
You received a message and did not respond so you got dinged for it. All messages must be responded to or sent to spam.
You have to reply to each new message thread , or mark it as spam
You didn't.
There is nothing to fix.
.......
Etsy isn't going to read millions of messages a day, to see if they were contacting you about something you bought, or now they saw your shop, they were asking about something they would like to buy from you.
If you can't be bothered to send an emoji as a reply, set up a buyer account, separate from your business.
The message was not a shipping update - is was the seller deliberately contacting you to give you information, when there is no need to.
I would mark it as spam
