HELP Etsy won't verify EIN

We tried setting up our shop more than a week ago.

The error messages say:

"Your shop has been frozen due to unverified taxpayer information
Update your legal and tax information with a valid Social Security Number or Employer Identification Number to sell on Etsy."

"The name and Tax ID provided does not match the IRS records. Please ensure you enter the correct name associated with your Tax ID provided."

All of the information is correct and can be verified via IRS issued documents. We have used the EIN to open a business checking account with no issues. It looks like there may be some issues Etsy's end. We are attempting to get this resolved as soon as possible. We do have the SS-4 and would be able to submit it to rectify the situation. 

We have contacted Etsy support multiple times, no response. Our shop was supposed to "open" more than a week ago. How do we resolve this in a timely manner??

You need to contact Etsy directly-- we are just other sellers here. Etsy works on it's own timeline- not yours.

Lots of sellers have had trouble trying to use an EIN number and had to use a SS# in order to make it work.  You may just have to do it that way as getting help thru etsy is not easy.

Have you tried doing a forums search on this? Seems like this topic came up in the past. You might be able to find a solution by searching.

Two thoughts.  Did you enter in a personal name when registering for the shop?  And how long ago was the EIN issued?  Other sellers have mentioned that it can take up to 6 weeks or more, for the EIN info. to be recognized by the site.

I had the same issue to the point I got locked out. Tried it another day same thing. I finally got another email from Etsy support with typical directions on how to change your legal and tax information. After rereading it 1000 times, it says you have to enter both lines of the name from your SS-4. So for example the first line says your business name and the second line in my case has my name and sole mbr after it. After entering both of these into Etsy it was finally accepted. Hope this helps.

What QueensDecorCo said is correct. This WORKED!!!! 
The "Name of legal entity" must include both lines on your SS-4. Example "Store Name LLC FirstName LastName Sole MBR"
