Hello, there were multiple SPAM messages (asking for external links to be hit, or additional money info) that I ignored and didn’t respond to knowing it was SPAM. I deleted them. Otherwise I ALWAYS respond quickly with real customers. Please look into this as you rated me at only 80% in responding to messages but I always responded (to real messages in Etsy) the same day. Thank you!
You have to either reply or report the message. When you click report, it will go into your spam folder and no longer count.
As you have deleted the messages without replying or clicking report, it will go against your stats, there is no way to change this.
Lesson learned.... if it is spam, mark it as such and it won't count. Ignore it, or delete it, and it will count against you. If you don't tell Etsy it is spam they will simply see a message you ignored or deleted without a response.
It's not incorrect. You either mark as spam or reply.
It's not possible for etsy to read every message and determine whether it needs a response and it's a simple yes the message was answered or sent to spam, or not it wasn't answered or sent to spam.
Ignoring them was a mistake as far as the Star Seller stats and your response rate percentage is correct.
Read how Star Seller works so you know all the rules and then you can follow them and earn the badge back in time.
@FrenchSummers: Unfortunately your score is not incorrect - as it says right on your Customer Service page and elsewhere, you need to reply to (or mark as SPAM) the FIRST message of EVERY NEW INCOMING THREAD within 24 hours. It does not matter who sent it, the subject matter, if it is a duplicate or blank or anything else.
If the deleted Messages are still in the trash folder, you might be able to mark them as spam and have the stats auto update in a few days (but not retroactively).
