I have seen that my message response rate dropped a couple of points at a time. I didn't argue the point, but this month it dropped overnight from 97 to 94 , and today it was 91. I can't see one message that I have missed.
I am disabled and I work for an hour tops and then sit.
I check Etsy on my phone every single time I sit, and even in the middle of the night. I normally see the 'good job' message when I respond. I can't see where I've missed a message at all.
Can someone please see if this is a glitch. If I missed one, it's because I didn't see a notification that I had a message.
Tia,

You need to download a CSV for messages to see what you missed
on 1st October,
all of august rolls out, and the - to date - is just september, october, and november-to-date
which means you lost a month of message stats from August, and only have 1 day for november, so if you missed one in sept/oct, your "current" stats would have gone down
if you download the csv, you will see what etsy thinks you missed,
Thank you. I had 30 messages in Oct. I missed one. Stats went from 98 to 91%>. Mathematically, it doesn't compute. I will look at messages for Aug. And Sept. But would they have been reflected in the previous stats.
Thanks again.
@PreciousMemoriesOne: "I can't see where I've missed a message at all." Have you checked the applicable CSV file available on your Customer Satisfaction page (previous period for November Star) to see which new Message threads Etsy thinks were unanswered or answered late?
When you look at the file remember that that the dates / times are in UTC (not your time zone), only the first message of a new incoming thread is included (all that counts for Star Seller), and usually a new incoming thread is not included until after the 24 hour reply window has passed regardless of when you replied. Star Seller stats (and the CSV file) seem to be updated only once per day so there may be an additional day's delay. There is also a link to the actual message thread so you can verify if the data is correct or not.
Thank you very much for the info.
I think 30 messages in a single month is a lot and missing any at all seems to have a bigger impact than it should. Just the way they set up the Star Seller program. You might really benefit from setting up the auto reply. Unfortunately we don’t always get that notification which hasn’t happened to me personally yet but it has been reported upon and is a real inconvenience.
