Hello,
I have recently received notice on my Star Seller ratings for this month that I did not reply to a message within 24 hours
I think that this is incorrect, as I have an auto reply set up for all I coming messages.
I usually reply within the same day as the Auto reply is sent, or less than 24 hours to all messages.
I tried to download my message history, but the site will not let me.
Any help would be great, because all messages for this mnth show I replied the same day.
Kind regards,
Flicker Effect Designs
@FlickerEffectDesigns: "I tried to download my message history, but the site will not let me." What exactly is going wrong when you try to download the CSV file?
It's not downloading, but that's not my issue.
I have a running auto-reply set for outside business hours. The message I replied to was on the same day, but Etsy marked it as not replied to within 24 hours..
Which has now messed up my 100% on time reply rate.
The weird thing is it shows that I replied with the same date as the message, but it was still marked as a late reply.
I am going to try to redownload the CSV file, as I think my ad blocker blocked it.. lol
Thank you for the helpful response!! ☺️
I have an auto reply set up for all I coming messages.
There are several types of auto reply, there is the vacation mode autoreply, the outside business hrs auto reply (both of these are long term), but the one that replies to all messages received in the normal running of your shop 24 hrs a day, has a time limit of five days. If you set this type of Auto reply it will expire every five days and you will need to reset it.
I have my set to outside of business hours, which is when the message was received. I replied to the message I received the same night I got the notification like an hour later.
The message and the reply have the same date, so not sure why it was marked as late..
Thank you for your help!!
This has happened to me as well. But it did let me download it. It ends up that I purchased something. When the seller didn't send it for 2 weeks, I wrote him a message and asked him if I could cancel the order and get a refund. Instead of replying to me in the same thread, for some reason he sent me a brand new message. He told me that he had cancelled and refunded. I didn't feel that I needed to respond to that. So because he replied in a new thread, I lost my star seller badge. And it was for something I bought, not something I sold. So I guess you can lose your star seller badge for items you purchased.
Yes, it's always been that way. You have to respond to all new messages - whether from BUYER OR SELLER - It's been that way since Day 1. If you were unaware of that, might be time to read the rules to keep from running afoul of other rules you might not be aware of.
I ordered a digital download and the seller sent me a Coupon via Messages for 50% off if I ordered again and I did'nt respond to that and got dinged for my Reply Rate, Very Frustrating.
@ToyFanatic: In your case, the message was absolutely SPAM by Etsy rules (and probably most anti-SPAM laws) and should have been marked at such. You might want to do that now and if something has not been changed your stats should auto update in several days. BUT BE WARNED that according to Etsy "You won’t receive any new messages from that member, and they’ll be unable to reply to messages in an existing thread." https://help.etsy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000343128-How-to-Handle-Scams-and-Suspicious-Messages
