Message response rate and phishing messages
The last month I had a total of 5 phishing messages via etsy. I don't respond to them and mark them as spam. Some users were gone before I could mark them.
And now I see my message response rate dropped. No star seller badge for me. I'm pretty fast on responding to actual buyers, so this is a bit of a let down....

Re: Message response rate and phishing messages
You can still mark as spam even if the user is gone.

Re: Message response rate and phishing messages
even the messages are gone. Saw them come in via the etsy app and they were gone when I could sit down and deal with them.

Re: Message response rate and phishing messages
@SamallaNL: Are you basing this on the applicable CSV file available on your Star Seller page (previous period for September Star)? When you look at the file remember that that the dates / times are in UTC (not your time zone), only the first message of a new incoming thread is included (all that counts for Star Seller), and usually a new incoming thread is not included until after the 24 hour reply window has passed regardless of when you replied. There is also a link to the actual message thread so you can verify if the data is correct or not.
If the unanswered new thread is not a Help Request, at least for the time being, it appears that marking an unanswered message as SPAM (even after the 24 hour deadline has passed) will cause your reply percentage to change in a day or two if the original message was within the current star seller period (but not retroactively). Note that subsequent messages from that account may go directly to the SPAM folder.
"Saw them come in via the etsy app" I believe that you can only mark them as SPAM using a browser, not the app.
