I have been muted from sending messages, its been a week and I still havent received a response from etsy solving my issue. I know its because I've sent too much messages in a short period of time but how much longer is etsy going to mute me from messages? I have many customer messages unable to respond.
About how long is the wait time?
Are these customers? And if so, are you able to contact them via email? These should appear on the order page (drop down arrow next to buyer ID).
I've not heard of this Etsy thing. Why would they do that?
@Hertfordweaver Etsy will mute sellers who send too many messages. Some sellers (not saying this one) will send lots of spam messages to people who favorite them, etc.
@Hertfordweaver Etsy will put a temporary block on your message facility if they think you are sending too many of the same messages in a short space of time. This is to stop shops sending SPAM to other users. [I type too slow]
They do it slow down the spammers. There are sellers that try to contact others with promotional messages so etsy has the ability to mute people who send too many messages in a short amount of time.
It usually takes sending a lot of identical or near identical emails in a short period of time. 25 or 50 at a time, something like that.
OP, I have no idea why you would need to send out a lot of emails, so many that Etsy would block you from sending messages. But I would suggest clarifying your listings to make it clear what buyers would receive. Your listing definitely are not clear, and have a lot of negative language in them "Only refund half" etc, and frankly aren't legal in many places, even in the US, that have consumer protection laws. I assume you added these statements due to complaints from buyers?
@KnLESS Your production partner is not legitimate. The only reason Etsy will ask you to enter a production partner is if you said that 'someone else' made your items. Please read the rules regarding what can be sold on Etsy and ensure you are complying with the handmade policy: https://help.etsy.com/hc/en-gb/articles/360024112614-What-Can-I-Sell-on-Etsy-?segment=selling
They probably handmake all their Mickey Mouse headbands though.
Watermarked, no less.
so much Mouse, so little time.
Sorry to jump in, but I'm really concered about those baby bracelets. They have beads and i know there is absolutely no way I would have put something so dangerous on one of my little ones.
It's okay (!!!) because it says 'Please note if bracelet string arrives perfect and gets loose within 3 days only half refund will be issued.'
I wonder how much refund I get if my baby chokes on the beads that will subsequently fall off?
@Amaradorn I know!! It's basically saying this is a dangerous choking hazard that I'm selling to your baby. No refunds!. Definitely buyer beware
An (presumably) unlicensed Disney wholesaler. What could go wrong?
The OP has left the building. The problem with messages is the least of their problems and if they pursue this with etsy and etsy reviews their shop, etsy will close it. Then they will have no more problems.
