I had the same message sent to me by a seller twice, I replied immediately but as I could only to reply to one message my stats show only a 91% reply rate because the duplicate message has not been replied to. I am not achieving star seller status because of this and are unable to find a way to contact Etsy to rectify the problem. Any suggestions thanks

We now combine multiple message threads between users into a single message thread for any messages received. The only exception to the single-thread rule is when a buyer reaches out via the Help With Order flow, at which point a new thread will be created and clearly labeled as such. To earn your Star Seller badge, you’ll still need to respond to initial messages from users including the help request messages.

there is no way to rectify it, etsy won't change it, it's working exactly the way etsy says it will work.
you have to reply to each new message thread once,
they are highlighted in BLUE , so you can't miss them

OP sorry about you losing the star seller status, we have to reply to all messages, the system is set up to count responses to every message.
