A customer of mine sent four seperate messages in a short space of time whilst trying to send me an image. Three of the messages were a cut and paste of the first message. I responded to the first of these messages within 24hrs but did not respond to the other messages as they were all copies of the first.
My Star Seller response rate has dropped below 95% because I did not respond to the duplicate messages.
Could you please investigate and resolve.
Thanks
We have to respond to every new message. Put them into spam and your percentage should come back up.
Hello everyone!
Prior to posting in a thread in the Forums, we ask that you please check if you are not bumping an old thread that hasn't seen any activity in a few months (or years, even). If that is the case, and you still would like to share your thoughts and get the conversation going - whether about this or similar topics, we ask that you start your own thread instead of bumping an old one.
Please note that reviving old threads can cause confusion for members reading, so always check the dates of the most recent replies before posting. You can find this information on the top-right corner of each message, right below the member's username and profile picture.
Having said that, we are closing this thread as it is indeed a bit older, and the information contained here may be outdated.
Thank you!

Thank you, I'll give that a go and see what happens to my percentage.
I contacted Etsy about the same issue. My seller response rate has not gone back up, nor have I gotten any sort of reply from Etsy. Basically, buyers can--for reasons that I don't understand--send entirely separate messages about the same issue. I always respond in less than 24 hours. Always. And usually within the hour. Without fail. My rating is now at 94% because I responded, but not to every message about the same thing from the same buyer, which would have been ridiculous as well as confusing to the buyer. Can someone look at my actual messages and correct the problem?
It's frustrating because even when you complete with the issue if the buyer sends a thumbs up or smiley face you have to respond or else you take a hit. I found out the hard way and lost the Star seller rating. I really hate spamming my customers just to have the 'last word' so I don't get dinged...
Exactly. The star seller system does far more harm than good. And why are sellers put in the position of having to find tricks to get around the problems that Etsy creates for us? Shouldn't Etsy just fix the problems? I thought the increased fees that we pay were for improvements to the platform.
It's all very frustrating. Same thing happened to me. Also, if I'm back and forth with a customer on the same thread for several weeks and don't respond to their last message over the weekend it still counts against me even if I sent 50 messages to them before that lol. It's broken.
