Message Response Error

I purchased something from my personal account. The store sent me a message about giving them a review. I just didn't respond to it. But now my store account message response rate drop from 100% because of this. Now I will loose my star seller status for next month. How can this be fixed? This is super annoying.

It sounds like you purchased with the account your shop is connected to. You have to set up a second independent Etsy account to avoid this. You need a different email address for that account.

 

Go to your Star Seller page and scroll down to the Q&A section.

Questions? We’ve got answers. -> Messages -> What messages count towards the message response rate? 

Your message response rate is based on just the first message in a conversation, not ongoing conversations. This means you just need to respond to the first message within 24 hours. This applies to messages both from buyer and seller accounts. Messages from Etsy staff do not count toward your response rate, and neither do messages that you mark as spam. You can also now find a breakdown of your message response rate score by downloading a CSV.

You can mark the message as spam or reply to it.

ALL messages need to be either answered or sent to spam.  Etsy can't tell if you were selling or buying.

 

Etsy employees can't adjust your star - it is all automatic, done by computer programs.  You'll have to hope for the best for next month.

As gently as possible, read the information on how the program works.

You need to answer all messages or spam the messages.

Buyer account is not separate from seller account unless you have two separate accounts linked only by being mentioned in the public profiles.
