So, twice now I've written a detailed reply in response to a buyer's customization request, and both times the new "prove you're a human" puzzle ate what I wrote.
I don't have infinite time to spend writing every message twice.
Etsy, please fix this ASAP!
Hi everyone,
Thank you for reporting. This issue has been fixed, so we're closing this thread.
@CreeksideCraftwork: Normally reCaptcha only appears when you are logging in, if at all. This sounds like a new issue - are you using an app or a browser? Replying from the Messages page? At what point are you getting the reCaptcha?
@BagmakerSupply I'm not getting it when logging in, only when replying to a message from a buyer. Using a browser (Firefox), from the messages page, and right after clicking "send" message.
Something weird has just transpired. Here is another Thread about the same thing. Receiving a Puzzle when sending a Message to a Customer.

ETA: Sorry, I see you know about the above Thread (you posted to it), Duh.
LOL! XD. It's good that you cross-referenced that post. Maybe Etsy will take notice.
@CreeksideCraftwork - I admit to being puzzled. Usually you have to go thru all the "captcha" stuff before/while trying to sign in.
But you are apparently able to be logged into your shop, replying to messages but then upon hitting the "send" button you're being greeted by the captcha pictures?
Note I'm not an app user so don't know what you can do within the app, but if using a computer, possibly consider "copying" your message so that once you're released from image h*ll you can just paste the reply & send?
This is something different which just started today.
@JMOldeVintage Yes, that's a good idea...if I can remember to actually do it.
I had a message this morning. Maybe I was lucky and I didn't get this, or maybe it's a test.
Makes perfect sense though, something new from etsy and it's glitchy.
It would be nice if scammers were getting it (multiple times), and it prevented them from scamming Sellers.
"It would be nice if scammers were getting it (multiple times), and it prevented them from scamming Sellers."
That's an interesting thought. This buyer and I have been going back and forth a lot in the thread. I wonder if Etsy's bots fail to realize that the buyer initiated the thread, and there's an actual conversation happening within it.
