How?
I literally am by my phone all the time.
A message comes in I respond extremely fast and respond fast for the ones below:
Customer sends me multiple messages in different threads I respond to each one
Spammer sends me a message- I mark as spam so it doesn't go against my stats
Even notes I respond just because.
Am I missing something? Anyone else respond to everyone and everything and still not 100% response rate. I got 100% on shipping so I know it can hit it, I'm just unsure why for months now its 98% for months can never get to 100%.
I'm not stressed about it, but I just want to know if I'm missing something/ not alone in this
@KreativeEarth Did you check the print out to see which message was the issue?
Same for me. I respond to everyone fast and I'm 98% also.
ok glad I'm not alone lol
Do you respond to messages from other sellers?
Don't think so...I've never had a message from other sellers in my inbox.
@KreativeEarth Did you check the print out to see which message was the issue?
Interesting. Just did, and of course its 2 spam messages that I never saw. That's odd that I didn't mark as spam or maybe the spam feature doesn't work and I should have just respond anyway and say "not interested"
@KreativeEarth You can mark them spam now. At least you know what it is now.
I reply to my messages very quickly but somehow don't meet the star seller criteria. Has anyone noticed a ETSY flaw on calculating this ration response? Sometimes I message on the seller app, sometimes the regular app and sometimes my laptop being logged in. Does that matter in their calculations?
I believe as long as you respond you're good. But when I did download my messages it said 2 messages weren't responded to in 24 hours and they were spam. So maybe I didn't mark it as spam or if I did I'm just going to reply "not interested" to cover myself
I think sometimes the seller app is glitchy, there was a post awhile back about messages replied to using the app that weren't counted.
My message response rate suffered this month. I downloaded the spreadsheet from Etsy and I was penalized for not replying to two messages – when the same buyer sent messages in multiple threads and I replied to just one. I thought Etsy would be consolidating messages from the same buyer? This "Star Seller" program is flawed, and seems to be frustrating for sellers.
Regarding the initial post – you can download a spreadsheet of your message history to check. One thing I've also noticed is that if you make a purchase on Etsy (through your seller account) and that seller sends you a message, you need to reply to that as well or get penalized.
@ScriptCharms: If there are two entries in the CSV file that means that it was two separate threads. Threads are NOT combined, generally new messages are appended to an existing thread.
Perhaps one of those messages was a Help Request - those always start a new thread.
The system is flawed and they put it on the sellers. I responded to one message, but apparently there was a duplicate from the same buyer and I didn't respond to that one because all Etsy's info says you only need to respond to one message. We get penalized because they don't know how to fix the system.
