Posting here because I'm currently waiting for a response from my escalated customer service from a week ago and I'm curious if this has ever happened to anyone else?
I've met all standards (yes, including sales quantity/$300 minimum) and did not receive a star for June. When I went to look into it, I noticed that my "previous period" is generating the exact same data as my "current period", leaving me slightly under $300 (because an entire month's worth of data is not included). It has the same dollar amount for the period down to the cent, and same number of sales, which is obviously wrong because I know I have not had a salesless month -- April's data seems to be missing. When I look at it from the "stats" POV and manually adjust it to the correct date range, the data is right and shows +$300 in sales -- this is ONLY from the Star Seller profile.
I've spoken to 2 reps in the help center, who both agreed I meet all criteria on their end and can't see anything wrong, but they needed to escalate my case in order to have anything change. They told me I should receive an email shortly after to reinstate it, but it's now been a week with no further response and someone else was only able to tell me that it's still marked as an open ticket.
A chunk of my products are pride/queer themes and having this happen for the month of June feels like it can't be doing my shop any favors during a busy month. I'm pretty bummed about it.
Any similar experiences or thoughts? I don't expect a solution, just wanted to talk to the community. (inb4 Star Seller isn't worth stressing over -- that's fine, but when I've rightfully earned it, I'd like to see it reflected in my shop.)
Etsy has said that star seller is completely run by bots and they will not correct a mistake--even if the mistake is theirs! Therefore sadly I doubt you are going to get this resolved--at least not for this month's SS badge.
When you say you spoke with "help" if you mean "chat" that is outsourced and they have a script to read for common problems. When what you want is not in their script they will tell you what you were told to get rid of you.
If I were you I would just quit worrying about this months and concentrate on this and next month.
Ugh, frustrating and disappointing but unfortunately all makes sense! Thanks for the reply
@ThePurplePuppy Sorry you're feeling bummed. I get it. While waiting for a reply, if you receive one, can be frustrating. Keep in mind that Etsy says that the Star Seller badge does not directly affect sales (or lack thereof). The Star Seller program is designed as an incentive so it doesn't affect visibility or placement in search. Hopefully, you receive it in the near future.
Thank you! I do feel like I get better sales when I have it but that's probably at least a partial placebo. Oh well, it's what it's!
