While opening the Etsy app to see the recent sales I had gotten, I was prompted with a message suspecting suspicious activity and was logged out. I then received an email notifying my bank account was unlinked and I can no longer access my account. I average 150/sales per day on this particular shop and now everything will go to zero before this gets sorted out. This same issue occurred exactly 7 days ago, the only difference was that my shop remained open and was continuing to get sales - I was only unable to access my account until I provided necessary personal information. Does this sound like a target attempt to gain control on my account? Twice sounds extremely suspicious. The slow process of sorting this out and speaking to Etsy customer service is extremely frustrating.
"Does this sound like a target attempt to gain control on my account? "
Yes it does. And I'm very sorry you're dealing with this. It's up to you, but I would "at" Admin HerrMoostache. Too much going on here, and you need help.
Thank you. I will try reaching out to her.
Oooof, yeah this might be a glitch, but the fact that your bank account was unlinked sounds very suspicious. I would contact Etsy immediately with words like "suspected fraud" and "hacking" and hopefully that pings the bot to send your message to an actual human.
Etsy informed me they unlinked my bank account themselves for security measures. I browsed through some threads and it looks like others have had the same issue.
Bumping this thread. Hope you can get some resolution on this.
Thank you! It took 29 hours last week to get the issue resolved, and I am sure it will get resolved again, it is just extremely frustrating to "wait" on the Etsy team.
Bump. Still yet to hear a response. Coming up on 24 hours since I have been able to log in. Any admins available?!
Going from 150 sales/day to zero is extremely frustrating!!
@CloseKnitCo Your shop is still open.
Contact Etsy via email using Contact us, under Community in the shop manager.
Try this: Submit a request – Etsy Help No guarantees it will work.
This may be more than Etsy. Did you have your computer checked for keylogging? Your phone? It sounds like the hackers have your information and are able to get your passwords which sounds like you have key logging on your computer.
When hacking
Let the bank know.
Change every password to anything on a clean computer.
Etsy is asking for personal information to prove it is you and you are the owner.
If this has happened more than once you may have more of an issue than Etsy. You may need to contact teh FBI to report.
I've been in a similar situation for 11 days with no contact from Etsy. Can't get a single reply after "password locked for security reasons".
Tried the "contact form" 11+ times, contact them via Twitter, and now used an old account to write here, as obviously I can't access my account to post.
I keep getting requests from customers (notification emails from Etsy's automated process) but I can't reply. Can't manage Ads budget (so far it's covered by sales, I guess, as I can't see my account), but sooner than later they'll start charging my for Ads I can't decide how to manage.
So, they run a shop in my name, a shop that doesn't solve customers issues or requests, and bad review won't delay to come, destroying my brand.
All for such a simple thing as solving a password reset? How is it possible that nobody handles a password reset request? No reply to a seller for 11 days? What kind of management runs Etsy's support team that allows such a ridiculous thing to happen?
Bumping this to keep it relevant. Hoping this works out for all those affected.
Hi,
I am having a similar issue, received bank account unlinked email followed by password reset. Now my shop is gone
I can see your shop is live and how long it took Etsy to restore it?
