My star seller data says I’m missing two orders with tracking info. I reported both orders as local delivery. So why is this affecting me negatively?
Star Seller requires a tracking number for each order.
Help article states
What if I offer local pick-up or delivery for my items?
At this time, orders that don't have tracking because they are delivered or picked up in person will be considered shipped without tracking, and will not meet the Star Seller criteria for shipping.

That is absurd that a seller pays fees on the orders that are local delivery but then get penalized by having star seller status taken away because there is no tracking. makes no sense to me at all and I am pretty upset about it since I go out of my way to maintain my star status. Why is there a local delivery option when updating the order then?
@glamhatter: "Why is there a local delivery option when updating the order then?" Because delivery / pickup is a valid way to complete an order. That it negatively affects Star Seller is a separate matter.
Unfortunately local shipping is counted as untracked according to Star Seller policy. That's just the way Etsy decided they wanted it to work. If you deliver untracked, you lose your star.
This is a problem because Etsy does not accept local couriers
