I am having serious issues with my local prices (Australia) being erased and only showing the 'Prices Everywhere Else' to Australian customers. So they are being overcharged each time they order, unaware that they are being charged more. I am having to give refunds each time this happens. I am not sure what is causing it. At first I thought it was mostly just one product it was happening to but I have started going through some other products this evening and noticed they are the same. I have re-entered prices in the past, but still they continue to disappear. Anyone else have this issue or able to help me prevent it happening in future. It's a problem especially as some products have multiple variations and I don't always know the cost of the top of my head when I need to re-enter the values.
OK So I have added 'Everywhere Else' to the Free Shipping Profile. So will see if that makes any difference and prevents it removing prices in future. Thanks everyone. Sorry it's so confusing trying to find the best work around when you have multiple variations for each item but still want to offer globally.
Hello!
Prior to posting in a thread in the Forums, we ask that you please check if you are not bumping an old thread that hasn't seen any activity in a few months (or years, even). If that is the case, and you still would like to share your thoughts and get the conversation going - whether about this or similar topics, we ask that you start your own thread instead of bumping an old one.
Please note that reviving old threads can cause confusion for members reading, so always check the dates of the most recent replies before posting. You can find this information on the top-left corner of each message, just below the member's username and profile picture.
Having said that, we are closing this thread as it is indeed a bit older, and the information contained here may be outdated.

There is no such thing as "local prices". Your prices are shown in the buyer's currency.
Sorry 'Domestic' prices is probably the correct term.
Prices are shown in whatever currency a buyer has checked. If you list in Australian dollars, I see it in US dollars. But if I change my currency to Canadian or Australian, I'll see your listings in those currencies.
Not sure what you are seeing?
Yeah I understand that :)My issue though is that there is a techical problem where the domestic prices on some listing are being erased, therefore charging domestic orders for international prices. I guess I didn't word it right
you are talking shipping prices, not item prices right? Just to clarify?
Sorry I think my post is not making sense and I didn't word it right. I wish I could take a screen shot of my listings.
There is two columns when using global shipping options. 'Prices In Australia' which I referred to as Local (sorry should of possibly called it something else to avoid confusion) and 'Prices Everywhere Else'. The Prices in Australia are being removed from some listings without any notice. Therefore Australian customers are being charged the 'Prices Everywhere Else'. Not sure why those prices are being removed. I think I will need to contact Etsy, as it seems to be a glitch.
@Former_Member I understood what you were saying.
Have you/do you update prices using bulk edit or quick edit?
This can only update the Everywhere Else price, and forces it to change the domestic to that price too.
Otherwise, yes it's a glitch. I checked some of your listings, but they were domestic shipping only, so there wouldn't have been a domestic/global pricing on them.
@CappuccinoLace thanks for the reply. My art prints I offer global shipping, because they are flat and easy to post overseas. No I don't use bulk or quick edit. And it will randomly just happen. Usually its just on my most popular seller, but last night I went through and it was multiple art prints and letter packs which were affected, so I went through and re-entered all the prices. Etsy are looking into it for me, but I feel it may be a more complex technical issues. So will see what they say
@Former_Member is this one?
because it's only got shipping australia... in fact all the art prints only have australia shipping.
This might be why it's removing the global/domestic pricing
@CappuccinoLace that one has both domestic and international, but if you are in Australia it will only show the Australian prices I thought. So when the Australian prices are erased, then Australian customers will just see the one price which is actually International prices. They would actually not even notice and some happy to pay the extra price. However I am always honest and partial refund. This being more expensive as postage is included in the cost. If it keeps happening I may just scrap international post.
But it doesn't have international shipping. Literally the only country in the shipping country drop down is Australia. And this is true of all the art prints.
Therefore there's no reason for the global/domestic pricing, so it's erasing it.
I'm in Canada, and that lising mentioned by @CappuccinoLace tells me it's only available to Australia only.
I've wondered about the tool you're talking about to make prices differently for Canadians & Americans to reflect different costs, esp exchange rates, but sounds like it might be a nightmare and leave it alone.
I‘m thinking reading this that if you have two prices ‚Australia‘ and ‚everywhere else‘ but only Australia in your shipping profile that the system gets confused and that’s why it shows the ‚everywhere else‘ price because it’s the only thing there?
Just checked and yes I didn't have Everywhere else added to the Free Shipping Profile. So will see if that helps preventing the issue in future.
It was a test , some time ago I had this feature in my shop but I did not used it because it is unfair to others customers
I use this feature and notice sometimes my local (Australian prices) disappear too! There is just a '0' in the local price and then the 'everywhere else' price is still there. But then I just re-enter the local prices and re-save the listing and they seem to stay. After I've re-entered them a couple of times I don't seem to have the issue again. But so far, I don't think there's been any issue with Australian customers paying my international prices, that's a bit worrying...are you using a desktop or the app? I have noticed on my 'Sell on Etsy' app that it only shows my international prices, but when I've had family/friends check in Australia they only see the local price so I don't worry so much.
OK glad I am not the only one. But it is frustrating. As mine seem to happen at random and I can't figure out why. I contacted Etsy via chat. They were looking into it, but then they just closed the chat and didn't let me know what the outcome was. So guess I will have to contact them again. I mostly use the desktop to create and edit listings.
ugh, it's bad news if they are messing with the domestic pricing tool, as Canadians need that for charging GST & HST.
@GieseDeseiGns I believe it is the item price that is being discussed. For example I sometime set a different purchase price for an item for fellow Canadians than for international purchasers. In part, because it helps to balance out the more expensive Canadian postage.
For people who are confused about what's being described, I think the OP is referring to the domestic and global pricing mentioned in this help center article: https://help.etsy.com/hc/en-us/articles/4403156582039-How-to-Add-Domestic-Global-Pricing-to-Your-Lis...
I personally haven't used the functionality when it rolled out a little while back.
Yes because I am unable to create separate shipping options within the one listing so it was easier to just include the shipping within the total costs for both domestic and countries outside Australia.
Here is a link to a screenshot of what I am trying to describe. As shown the Australian Prices have become blank for no apparent reason. So then when someone from Australia purchases they are charged the international prices. It happens at random. So the Australian Prices Should be $25 for digital, $40.50 for Post By Mail and $42.50 For Express Post within Australia. But instead they are being charged $50 for Post By Mail.

Screen Shot of issue
@CappuccinoLace I see what you mean now. I have added Free Shipping to 'Everywhere Else' now on those listings. So will see if that makes any difference. So confusing!
Hey, we have been having this issue for a while and Etsy haven’t been helpful at all
