Listings titles in search reduced to one word in some cases!

I really don't know what Etsy is thinking sometimes. I searched for ' antique French pharmacy bottles ' and listings came up with severely reduced titles, in some cases reduced to just one word, one of my listings just said ' Antique ' under the photo of three antique pharmacy bottles. It looks incredibly unprofessional and not exactly encouraging. Is anybody else experiencing this?

Yes, I see it on your listing titles (in Firefox only). It seems the titles are being truncated at the first punctuation mark, and it coincides with an Etsy experiment where the search images are square instead of rectangular. I strongly suggest reporting it to Etsy.

I could not agree more. Often I have quantities and other important information noted in the second set of text. My sales suck lately and I have to wonder if some of these experiments are why.

I also wonder what buyers think of all these tests. Surely giving them a consistent experience would be better than constantly changing up what they see.

I am on Firefox and I see all of your title.

What I see under the pic: Very large vintage French school stamps

What I see if I hover over the title: Very large vintage French school stamps, geography stamps, rubber stamps, set of 6 with large holder, Set No. 2

I am now in this test and it is awful!  Even if you hover over title or photo the complete title DOES NOT show up.  Don't the tests stop soon before the holidays???

Tests typically go till the end of November.  Etsy defines the holiday season as Thanksgiving to Christmas.

I noticed this as well, also for other stores, but indeed it seems to be a test because it appears to be very random.

How in the world could anyone come up with this idea and then also think it is a good one, my mind is blown. Let's hope it is an error of some sort?

This is disastrous for sellers (and obviously for buyers as well, who are now seeing totally irrelevant results they have no interest in browsing through.  If I was a buyer seeing this, I would think that I could probably get better results finding what I wanted outside of ETSY)!!!

A test or is it your browser?  Have you done the usual.  Clean out cache and cookies?  REboot.

I have not seen this one word and it does not sound like a useful test so I would think there is an issue with the browser or OS system.

I'm looking at one listing for a Kobenstyle pot and all it says on the search results is Quistgaard (IHQ). The full title when you click through is Quistgaard (IHQ) yellow Kobenstyle enamel lidded casserole pot, Dansk Designs, Denmark . SMH.

Oh, here's another beauty. Under the photo in Search all that displays is Set (3).  The full title is Set (3) Dansk Stacking Candle Holders by IHQ. Set (3) is really going to pull in buyers. Not. They're going to think the seller is too lazy to fill out the full details.
