Listings and Bad Gateway

Jump to solution

Hello,

I have reached out to Etsy's help support and am waiting to hear back from them, this was a few days ago. Anyone else have their listings basically lose all of the information (and says Uh oh, something went wrong) like where it was made, who made it, all the attributes and pricing and when viewing it on the phone dashboard it says BAD GATEWAY? I have this happening to a lot of my listings, I'm afraid to go actually count but it's a lot and I am both sad and upset about this.

The worst part is that it is happening to some popular listings that are ranking well and people can't order from them. I already had two customers message me saying they could not put the items in their basket, I directed them to a new listing that was working and explained there was a glitch and hopefully it will be resolved soon.

Am I alone here, has anyone have this happen and it get resolved?

"Bad Gateway' is almost always a server side issue (one server cannot talk to another server) and I suspect that it has to do with the fact that Etsy has things distributed in the cloud. usually it only affects people being served from that particular server and usually clears itself up pretty quick. You might try <ctrl><f5> from your browser to make sure that you don't have cached data from a "bad" server.

Would I hit CTRL F5 in the listing or just on a google page for example?

So I hit CTRL F5 in a listing and on a regular page and nothing changed. Still says Uh Oh for some listings.

The <ctrl><f5> clears the cache for the domain you are on, i.e Etsy.com or google.com, and forces the browser to download everything fresh. If it is entirely a server side issue then it will not help, but it is always a good first thing to try.

I am also having this issue, cannot edit half of our listings... getting bad gateway red banner at the top of the page. Cannot copy the listing or anything and all of my variations are gone under these "broken" listings. Been waiting on Etsy to help since last Thursday and still no resolution.

I've been having this problem for a month with my listing that I sell the most from, and Etsy advertises as Best Seller. I've contacted Support a couple times who says their techs are looking into it.

Has this been resolved for anyone?

I am also having this issue and etsy support has done nothing to help. At this stage I may need to delete the listing and start over. Which is no small task.

Copy as much of the listing as you can ie the description at least and save it in a document.

I don’t know if this will work for lost listings or listings with lost info, but worth a shot anyway.  In your shop settings, click on “options” and download the CSV file of your active listings (json) … you won’t be able to reload that file back into Etsy, but at least the file contains everything you will need to open the file in a spreadsheet and then you can copy/paste the info to fix or relist the lost files. Might help cut down on relisting time.  Hope that makes sense.

Check back in a few hours it usually goes away after awhile. I've seen it happen before, bad gateway has nothing to do with your computer or phone but something on the side with Etsy
