Listing issues with shipping settings.

I am having trouble while listing items. I want to choose standard shipping, which is calculated based on size and weight of the box. I am not given a place to put weight or size of the package. I am given two choices, free shipping or fixed shipping. I have tried changing my shipping settings. But I have the same problem, I am only given the two options. I have spent the last two hours trying to figure out what I am doing wrong. Did I miss an announcement about a change to shipping? I am so frustrated. What am I doing wrong? Thank you for your help.

I have already been to list page and tried to follow the directions. When I get to Shipping Services next to it appears a red box that reads, You need to add at least one domestic shipping service. But I am not given a list of options. Below that I am only given Free Shipping as a choice. I have been on Etsy for several years and have listed thousands of items. So I have plenty of experience. I am not sure what I have done wrong.

Using the new template?  In the middle of the shipping area, it says shipping profiles.  Open the box to display your calculated shipping profile.  If you don't have one, create one as it is aprt of calculated shipping.

Next clcik on the + sign.  This opens the box to add weight and dimensions.

I think I have been using the new template for a while now. I apologize for getting into the weeds here but I'm flummoxed. I start by clicking on Settings. Next I click on Shipping Settings. From there I click on the little plus symbol next to Create Profile. A new window pops up. Once in there I enter my country of origin, USA, the origin zip code, 62024, and my Process Time, 1-3 days. I move on to Standard Shipping. I only ship to places in the USA so I click on Shipping Service. A menu drops down and I choose USPS First-Class Mail. Next, I click on What You'll Charge. My only choices are Free and Fixed. And this is where I get stuck. No option for weight or size.

@SwanSongAntiques   It sounds like you set up a standard shipping profile, where you set your prices.  You will need to go back into shipping settings and set up a calculated profile ... it will say "Calculate them for me (Recommended)".  Then enter your info including areas you ship to (just unclick the checkmark to auto set to USA),  Once you have set up a calculated shipping profile, it will then use the weight & size that are in your listings.  Be sure to assign this shipping profile to the listings you want (bulk editor is awesome for that).  Still stuck, let us know ... we're happy to help!

I'm sorry to be so much trouble, but I don't see "Calculate them for me (Recommended)" anywhere on the shipping profile page. The top of the page reads, Create shipping profile. It has a heading of Country of Origin, Origin Zip Code and Processing time. When I start a new shipping profile, I am asked to choose shipping service. I pick USPS First Class. I am then asked What You'll charge, I am given two choices from the drop down menu, Free or Fixed. I have looked all over the page and I can't find the Calculate them for me (Recommended) anywhere. I'm having the exact same issue. There is no weight anymore on any of my listings. I can only choose between free shipping and fixed. I can't edit my calculated shipping profiles, so I've been making new fixed shipping profiles. Now I have another issue - I can't move the listings in bulk to the new profiles..keep getting an "Uh oh" message. So, I have to go into each listing, and manually move it to the new profile. I'm about to give up.

I am having the same problem as you are. I am renewing items that had the weight and size of the package in them which is missing now, though the postage price seems to be correct as if the weight and size were in still in there. I thought maybe the problem was that they were finally updating the shipping profile information to remove Priority Mail and add the new Ground Advantage prices, but if I go into my shipping profile, it says I need to set a domestic shipping option, but won't let me do that. I am still using the old listing form.

I'm completely unable to list anything unless I want the shipping to be free or fixed. Because I sell vintage items, just like you, my packages vary in size and weight. So fixed is not an option. Maybe I am not using the new template? I thought I was. Either way, does that effect changing things in my settings? I am just at a loss.

It doesn't help to use the new form. I switched to see if the weight and size were there and they are not. I have 2 shops, and I can add package weight and size in my other shop.

I have the exact same problem. Etsy chat told me to clear my cookies and cache. Which did not correct the problem.

@SwanSongAntiques: The " "Calculate them for me (Recommended)" " is on the listing form itself - on the "old" listing form to the Shipping section and click on the "Enter custom shipping options" radio button.

The Calculate them for me (Recommended) is not on the shipping profile for or on the listing form. The only choices are fixed and free. I have been on Etsy for years so I have filled out listing forms for years. And I have created shipping profiles in the past. But I appreciate your reaching out to me.

@SwanSongAntiques what browser/device are you using? Old listing form or new? Have you tried removing and re-adding shipping profiles? Sounds like a glitch for some sellers so it may hinge on your browser or device

@SwanSongAntiques I found a human at Etsy to help who said that my Shop Country wasn't set (I did not make this change myself). They set it and it seems to have fixed the problem. I'm not sure if you can do this on your own or not.

I just checked and I have the United States set. Is this something they need to do for me? I emailed them Thursday and they have yet to send me a reply. I really hope to hear back soon. Thank you for letting me know what worked for you. I hope it is that simple for me.

I think Etsy can't figure things out yet... I can't add weight etc and they told me that more shops are having same issue and they are working on it.  I chatted with them on 8/16 and nothing happened yet.

@OhBoyItsCrystal I was finally able to chat with someone this afternoon. They had to set my country of origin and that seemed to do the trick. I hope they get your shop up and running soon.

@SmilingCatvintage Thank you so much for pointing me in the right direction. I was finally able to chat with a person at Etsy and they reset my country of origin. I tried to do it myself and it did not work. I can list again and I appreciate your help so much.

@SwanSongAntiques I have the same issue. It was only a problem in one of my two shops, now it's a problem in both. No box for weight or dimensions. I've had a ticket number with Etsy since 8-22-23 and still no answer. So frustrating!

I am having the same issue - when I did a chat last night, “Jordan” sent me a link on adding variations to my listing….not what my issue was. No help at all.
