Linking photos to variations not working

So I went to all the trouble to change a lot of my listings to link the photos to the color variations. Everything seemed to function fine while linking them, but they are not working or showing up in the shop when people try to check them. The photo stays on the main photo. Is this a known bug? I cannot seem to find anything on it on this forum which is awful to naviagate anyway.

Anyone found a resolution? This is costing us sales.

I'm having the same problem.  I have two listing of the same item.  (Each has the limit of 10 pics) The first one I did a while ago works fine, but the second one (still in draft) and photos HAVE been linked to the variation name apparently aren't linked. When I click on the variation name, the pic doesn't change. the only way I can get another pic is to click from the drop down on the left.  Even doing that doesn't change the item name selection name on the right.  I've re-linked with no change in variation. So if the customer clicks on something it will end up like Forest Gum & that box of chocolates - you never know what you're  gonna get. Bottom line: nothing corresponds so selecting the variation name doesn't show the pic. Pulling my hair out! Please help. Thank you.

The one that isn't working properly is still in drafts? And it's not working properly in preview? If so then that's pretty normal. Variations don't work properly in preview. It says so right there on the preview page. Publish it and see if it works then.

I have eight size and colour variations for my framed prints, but I can't select a different photo depending on wether it's black or white. For example whatever photo i select for '15x20 cm / 6x8″ Black' the same image gets applied to the White variation and via versa, is this a bug?

When I click 'link photos', only four size variations show and no colour, they are:

15x20 cm / 6x8″
A4 21x29.7 cm / 8x12″
30x40 cm / 12x16″
45x60 cm / 18x24″

Am I doing something wrong or is this a bug?

its does the same on my listings and i have been so quite all week so checked my listing to find all the photos not linked, nightmare.
