Let me preface this by saying I check my shop all the time, so I am in no way relying on emails. And I do usually get emails from Etsy, so if you don't, that's not this issue.
Last week, I got an email about a Message 3 days after I actually received the Message. I didn't think too much about it at the time, just figuring it got held up somewhere along the way or a server needed to be rebooted. And I found a couple of threads here in the forums of a handful of people that also had a similar issue.
Today, I received notification emails of refunds I sent on Monday.
Not all of my emails from Etsy are slow to arrive. Some arrive instantly.
Anyone else seeing this intermittent lagging? And if you are, how is your shop doing? Mine is d-e-a-d DEAD. Just curious if somehow they could be related. Probably not, but since I'm here asking....
If it's the refund emails, it could be due to the new process Etsy is using to ask the buyer if they want their refund as an Etsy credit or not. This process is giving the buyer 48 hours to respond, before defaulting to a normal (i.e., not Etsy credit) refund, and then sends the email. I've been receiving some refund emails exactly 48 hours after I process the refund due to this; all my other Etsy emails seem to be unaffected.
This is also happening to me. I’ve also been having buyers contact me through my email and Facebook saying they aren’t able to message me though Etsy. Very strange.
Not being able to message you, or you're just not getting the emails? I seem to be getting Messages just fine. (I'll say "seem", as I haven't gotten one for a couple of days.) It's just the emails about Messages that are delayed for me.
I hope your Messages issue is cleared up soon!
Most of my emails re: Messages come on time. But I do recall some coming a little later during the day. The ones which say Etsy Transactions seem to arrive instantly. Regarding Shop being dead; absolutely, starting with the beginning of October. Also, I would try to search for my items with specific phrases, one day they appear (or most of them), the next day they are nowhere to be found. This applies to others who have searched to my items on their devices (yes, I know we all get different search results). But there definitely is a "now you see it, now you don't" thing going on.
It's not a problem right now because after my last show (this past weekend), I have just a few pieces left. But I ended up doing extra shows to be able to move my items.

@BlackSheepDyeworks Oh, I think you're right. And it was right around the 48 hour mark.
I will have to remember that!
Alright, the refund delay has been explained. I'll keep assuming my delayed Message email was an anomaly.
