So I occasionally check my SPAM folder and sure enough-a 4 day old legitimate question from a customer is in there. Luckily he mailed during my auto response time frame and my auto response went straight out. However, I mailed him back apologizing for ETSY but I have to move it back to my inbox before the SENT mail shows I sent a response. Am I safe moving it to inbox with my on time metrics because my auto response DID kick in?
That's a good question; I hope someone jumps in.
I would say you're safe moving it to your Inbox because Auto Reply kicked in, but let's see what others say. I used Auto Reply a few times when I was away at a Show. But in my case, the Message was in the Inbox (not in Spam). I do however, check the Spam Folder daily just in case something gets thrown in there.
@ChillwolfArt I have that thing set for every week day outside of 9-5 and 24/7 for the weekends. You really should just have it set up to run all the time IMO.
When I'm here, or out for a short while, I leave it off. But if I'm out for a lengthy time, I'll flip it on.
I've had what seem as legit messages in my spam folder that turn into spam after a couple of of exchanges. So they have been actual spam.
I've seen posts before where people were docked on SS for taking a convo out of spam, but I haven't specifically seen anyone mention that they had the auto replies on. Perhaps have a search in the forums for those threads and see the circumstances for a few and if they had auto replies on or not.
cannot tell if acceptable or spam "/// on subject line"?
