I've been selling on Etsy for years and have never gotten a Label Adjustment until recently. I've had 4 to date and I know they are all wrong. My post master has verified that the way I'm shipping is accurate. USPS doesn't follow up on my dispute. They change the package size, weight, and charge me more money. I send hundreds of the same size/weight packages that aren't adjusted, but going from it never happening to happening 4 times in the last 8 weeks is extremely time consuming, And I'm still out of the money taken. Loss of income and lost time trying to get it back!

Is anyone else seeing a ridiculous unjust increase of Ground Advantage weight and even upgrades to Priority (without receiving priority service).

It sounds like you ship envelopes, some post office locations are under the misconception that if it is in an envelope it cannot have tracking. (Even though they themselves consider most envelopes to be a package by their own rules)

I ship my bookmarks in rigid envelopes with a wooden decorative seal and some padding. This makes them non machinable because they have more than 3/4" in thickness variation and have a non-bendable item in them.

Previously someone in Pennsylvania would adjust my orders twice a year but I started taking photos after a horrible customer experience. Having a photo of the contents has resulted in any adjustment being reversed. I use the online form and upload a photo of the order as well as a description including the wooden seal. The person in Pennsylvania would apparently repackage my orders in a flat rate box because of my tracking code, which is malarky. The photos prove it is malarky and have solved all scammer attempts I've had from people trying to tell Etsy they didn't get something, or I shipped to the wrong address or whatever. I photograph the items, the package, the invoice and the shipping label. Has been well worth the effort.

I keep the photos for a year as proof, although the oldest I've had to look up was 3 months back.

If you use pirate ship for shipping are you still protected by Etsy's seller protection policy?

@WhitebarkVintage: Where you purchase your labels is irrelevant to seller protection plan eligibility.

I've only had a couple of adjustments in my time on Etsy.

I've has consistently positive experiences with Pirateship and when I've needed help, they've been helpful. They also have a simple export rate that saves a lot on international shipments.

I do add a couple of ounces on my labels ... the fees are banded and adding contingency doesn't change the price ... I go just below the next band.

I pack everything and weigh the package and then print the label with its small amount of contingency weight. No guesswork.

I'm knocking on wood ... because I've had so few adjustments ... 2 I think ... in 13+ years.

Yes!!! And large amounts like $14 and $10. I’m losing money and like you it’s happening more often in the past few months. The local post office confirms it’s correct and gives me a receipt before it ships.  I follow up and sometimes months later get a refund from the post office. I’m not even breaking even at this rate. I’m not sure what I can do but this definitely isn’t working!

Same story here!  First one for me charged me for an insanely wrong package size and priority, when it was ground advantage.  Charged me $4.07.  No response/credit  in the "15 business days" it "may take".  the phone number to call on the email is some weird pitney bowes number that doesn't have a single one of the 10 options for Etsy sellers.  Etsy doesn't know what to do about it either.  How much time do we spend trying to get our money back---during the busiest time of the year!!!--- to get our money back.
I think we need a class action.
Anyone know a cheap or free lawyer?
