I have a question... sure hope Admin see this...
We live in one of the 2 states that doesn't allow Klarna to operate. NM and HI. It was an option for some buyers so they could pay on time. Since Etsy doesn't have the Other Option any longer, it was something. Our we concerned unnecessarily because Klarna merely operates wherever Etsy IS not our shop? Hope that makes sense.
Etsy admin, thanks for the clarity.
Your items can be purchased by me using Klarna (I am in Florida ) is one of the payment methods I can choose and use when see your items. Since Klarna pay to Etsy you don’t have to worry about it. Hope this help.
So they will go by location of Etsy not location of seller. Thank YOU!
Klarna is available in your shop
Yes. That's not really my question though.
I think it depends on where the buyer lives not the seller location.
I hope that's the case, probably so.
@bycinbyhand - Yes, your home page shows Klarna is a payment option. I carted one of your items & I could have checked out using Klarna.
So when you say that N.M. & HI do not allow Klarna to operate, I'm wondering if a better statement would be to say that "residents of N.M. & HI are unable to use the service"?
This I would understand, it might be tied to States' regulations on banking, loans, payday loan providers, etc.
But as a resident of Florida, if I wanted to use Klarna's services in your shop I could.
What residents of your State or Hawaii see or are offered at checkout - remember Etsy does this - is hopefully within the law.
I'm in Colorado, and I went all the way through checkout with Klarna as an option, stopped just before completing the order.

You don't think I have? ha ha
I googled it,
it said Klarna does not allow residents of NM and HI to purchase with Klarna
from what I can gather,
it doesn't matter, where you, as a seller reside, if you sell on Etsy, as Etsy is not headquartered in either - and neither are their payment processors
Googling it was a good idea. And that makes total sense.
thank YOU!!
a bit of research on the old Google does it again !
PayPal also has an installment option, and Etsy Payments Include Paypal in all 50 states, as far as I am aware.
Klarna withdrew from the markets in those states,
they passed laws reducing the max amount of late payment fees companies can charge
Afterpay withdrew from nm too.
maybe paypal can work within the new fee limits
