I had 13 of my items, 1/4 of my shop, removed and the accompanying email states that I had broken the "Handmade Policy". I reached out and was given several automated messages about having to make sure that what I am selling is allowed to be sold. I have gone through the chat and redirected to people who reviewed my case then received emails about how the decision is final and I am somehow in the wrong- Even when provided photos of the items on my workbench and still on my lathe, in varied states of completion.
Couple weeks later, when reaching out on the chat and they say theyll be in contact via email again there is no message. Three weeks after the removal, I am not even getting responses on the chat.
I see I'm not the only one having similar issues, is this where Etsy has lost favour with its sellers and we jump ship to other various platforms?
I’ve been experiencing similar issues. I’ve been able to email help and getting canned responses. How did you reach someone via chat?
On pc I would go messages and there should be a. Lue bubble in the bottom right of your screen. It disappeared after I sent a few messages but came back a few days later.
certain four letter selling platforms don,t care about customer/seller service this is why they are using AI and bots to remove things causing many errors that seldom get resolved in a timely manor.even Ebay has a phone number to contact them not certain four letter selling platforms.
I've been through this 4 times seperately now and eventually had all put back. You need to reply to the rubbish replies saying the decision isn't final and you need a real person from the Trust & Safety team. Each times it's taken 3-4 weeks but they then apologise. If your reply and don't get a rubbish response almost instantly then it's looking positive that it had gone in the right queue so then just wait.
Hi! I'm going through the same thing currently. Just curious, if after it happens once and the listing gets put back do they ever take down the same listing again? Or are you referring to 4 different listings?
It took nearly 5 weeks and theyve replace the items. It was different items removed than last time and those were claimed as "drug paraphernalia"
Take the email and respond back to with the same information that they are handmade. Be persistent,
It might work to have the photos notarized and the work notarized as handmade.
You may want to search out to see if your photos have been taken by other sites. That can cause issues.
One of the many reasons I will be jumping ship to my own website very soon here. This site is making it abundantly clear that they do not care about their sellers one little bit.
I'm sorry this happened to you. It appears to be a fairly widespread thing. I do find it slightly amusing (and nauseating) that "chat support" always says they will "escalate" the issue and an email be received. It's never escalated. And the email never appears.
It's like being told "we'll take it under advisement" which really means is "we will not bother so go away".
A bit of an insult really...I hope you get your items back to live!
I've had one deactivated for not being handmade, however it wasnt in the handmade catagory it was a supply and an etsy pick too boot. How ludicrous is that , Being reprimanded for not handmade when I didnt even state it was. took them 9 days to reactivate well they sent the email that it was an error on their part and that it would be reactivated in 20 minutes next day it wasnt so I had to email again took another few days this time i got an email with no apology. Its a complete mess and we sellers need to speak out about it.
