Hello,
I've an issue with most of my items that are 'not available in your region' when someone try to open the listing. My shop Okame Gallery is based in France and this happen for people in France and in the USA and many others countries... I curently unable to sell anything to anyone!
I've been in contact with Etsy help and all I get is a generic answer about VAT law in France for order over 150 euro from shop outside Europe.. This is not the reason why my items doesn't show as in my case my shop is inside Europe and the items doesn't show even if they are less than 150 euro...
I'm desperate as I've been talking with more than 10 persons from Etsy and all I get is the same answer over and over...
I'm about to close my shop if I can't find a solution...But in sad, I've been running or since few years and get a lot of amazing reviews ☺️
Anyone here can help me 🧐
I have done some searching on your items, over 150 euros
I have tried USA, UK, and Germany, and it is available for all of those,
I have opened the listings, and added them to my cart, and proceeded to checkout, and get no message
not sure why others can't even open the listing
I just did the same for a bunch of listings. None of them gave me the not available in my region message and all added to cart without issue.
Thanks a lot, now the problem is only for French buyers.
I am in France and I can only open and view the listings under 150€ anything above I get the ' sorry not available in your region'
Thanks, any ideas of how I can fix this one?
@OkameGallery: I don't believe that there is anything YOU can do about it. Based on other posts, this decision is based on what many platforms consider onerous French regulations. I believe that even Amazon has implemented this 150€ "not available" protocol.
Amazon did it a full year before Etsy did, etsy were way behind the law
Yes but my shop is based in France so it's not about a new French regulation
I’m in the US and can see and purchase your items
Thanks a lot for looking at it. So I guess the problem is now only for French buyers.
I just had a look at your website and it states this
We are passionate about Japanese art and lucky to live in Asia. We take absolute delight in travelling around Japan, both in towns, and very rural villages, discovering vintage gems.
It takes 2-3 days after an order has been placed for it to be shipped out. We ship from Cambodia as are main home is there. Sometimes we also ship from Japan.
So a bit confused
Yes thanks you for your answer. I need to update this one as I used to ship from Cambodia. I just move back to France with my stock.
So I'm happy to see that now the problem is only for French buyers...
If your shop was originally based in Cambodia and you have just recently moved back to France then that is where you issue is.
Yes but I changed the location on the setting and updated the shippement on all shippement profile... I don't know what else can I do.
You cannot just change Country though, you would need to open a new shop based in France with your French banking details and Siret/Siren numver
If you’re in the eurozone
If your current bank account is located in the eurozone of Europe and you’re moving to another country within the eurozone, contact us for help updating your bank to the new country.
If you’re anywhere else
It’s not possible to change a bank account to another country.
The best option is to open a new Etsy shop. With your new shop, you can set your bank account to one in your current country. However, you can’t merge Etsy accounts or transfer information from your original shop to your new shop. This means that shop data, including listings, reviews, or sales numbers, can't be moved over to a new account. You can include the URL for your original shop in your new shop to display your reviews and sales numbers to shoppers.
It is my French bank account since the creation of the shop.
However I might try to update my bank account to my husband French account to see if that might change something.
I really believe there is a technical issue with Etsy on this one and I'm surprise the Etsy support can't give me any answers.
Thanks for your help here ☺️
Sorry didn't realise it was your French account, something is not right then, I wish I could offer more advise but I just don't know, I would keep on at Chat if it were me until someone actually takes a proper look at your issue and helps, but I also know that is easier said than done and they can be totally frustrating.
Good Luck, hope it gets sorted out soon.
Yes I will keep trying to contact them. Thanks again that already helpful to have someone that try to understand me and nor giving me general answer
I really think I will close my shop and sell on a different platform
I see your items. I am in the US. It is true your items over 150 euros will not be seen by French buyers. You can't even look for them in search.
How are you searching your items? The results for several showed a high number available and yours were not found on the first few pages. I had to use the filter to find them. So it may be more that your tags and titles are not serving your listings well.
Thanks for your answer and helo. Yes that also something that happen to me a year ago, my sale suddenly dropped and I wasn't in the top result (as before). .. I'm very careful and well aware about tags and title and I wasn't able to explain this sudden change in the search result. I'm sure there is something not right with my shop but I don't know...
@ArtDollsbyJD that's the problem, the shop is in France and French buyers should be able to view the listings and not be getting the 'not available in your region' message.
I am in France and can view listings in France over 150€ but not in this shop for some reason, something is adrift somewhere
Etsy doesn't let you change your shop country,
So it will still be set to outside of France.
I wonder if Etsy is checking the actual shop back end, rather than the "ships from" on the listing.
@CraftyCornishMaids they said they started their shop with their French bank account, something is off though
It is my French bank account since the creation of the shop.
Yes it's always been my French account it's my only bank account...
I will try to ask Etsy support where is my shop located accorting to them... Maybe that will help...
Thanksagain
