Hello - I am noticing that listings are expiring earlier than the 3-months. Has anyone experienced this ? And is there a way to check the times a listing was renewed other than going through the long list of transaction?
thx
Your listings should not expire before 4 months, not 3. Go to your shop dashboard and click "listings"
A listing should last for 4 months, give or take a couple of days.
I sometimes check when I relist something to make sure the new expiration date is correct.
And I've got some listings that do not expire on their expiration date.
But to be honest, I don't check every listing and every expiration date since they seem to be correct the majority of the time.
If I believed that listings were expiring earlier than 4 months ... I'd put together the detail ... enough to make my case to Etsy ... and then contact Etsy about the issue. Unfortunately, the only way I think it would be possible to do this is to go listing by listing and/or map the listings in question to the financial detail.
Erank and/or Vella might provide more detail about dates. I used to use Erank regularly and it had the original listing date - so if the listing isn't too old, that may help you.
Listings with a quantity > 1 will automatically relist whenever the listing sells. Those listings will tend to have lots of renewals if they're selling well.
I have had 4 listings that were taken down saying they expire two weeks prior to the current date. They do not show up on my main page as expired. I have to go to expired listings. Unfortunately I just relisted them before reporting to Etsy.
I've had listings show in the Active listings past their expiration date. Usually, it's a day or so but sometimes it's longer. I don't consider listings remaining active for additional days an issue. I would consider listings expiring before their expiration date an issue - but so far have not seen that happen.
Listings have expired only show up in the Expired Listings section. So that's normal.
If the listings were taken down by Etsy, rather than expiring, I would not relist. Based on what I've read in the forums, listings that are taken down for some reason are flagged with a red bar on them.
"And is there a way to check the times a listing was renewed other than going through the long list of transaction? " You can generate the monthly financial csvs then search them for the listing number.
Someone else reported things expiring early; can't remember if it was here or on Reddit. You may want to do a search.

I've had several items lately that show sold out a month after I had renewed them for being sold out. Sold out on 1/18/25, renewed, then showed sold out exactly one month later 2/18/25 and needed to be renewed again. They only sold on 1/18/25. That's happened on several items. Guess I should have reported them. I just renewed them. Maybe it's a new revenue source.

As in ... Etsy is having a bit of trouble making the rent this month?
