Issues with creating custom orders
Sometimes customers will reach out to me about one of my listings, but request a customization (different sizes, quantities, items)
I create a custom order, but when I go to my shop listings I see an error message that there needs to be updates.
The create custom order button when in chat thread only provides certain options. Wouldnt it be simple to add a feature to this where you can select one of your listings that is being referenced when creating custom order, so these items are copied over and thus not creating error?
Am I doing something wrong?

Re: Issues with creating custom orders
Due to new glitches, many sellers are not using the "custom order" listing features, but instead are using a normal listing and just entering a simple title ... Custom Order for XXX (or something similar) and then only entering the actual custom order details in the description. Creating a listing the normal way allows you to edit the listing as needed without sending the buyer numerous notifications. If needed, you can use the "copy" listing link found listing drop down menu ... then make the necessary edits for the custom order. Perhaps this method would work best for you? Hope this helps!

Re: Issues with creating custom orders
It's the shipping profile for me... I always have to go back in and select it again. They should add the ability to select our shipping profiles IN the custom order section and not just add a shipping price only. But with all of the bugs I think it's better to create an actual listing for the custom order and not do it through messages, that way if someone else comes along and wants the same thing, you can just copy THAT order listing and make minimal changes rather than starting over from scratch.

Re: Issues with creating custom orders
Yes, when you create a custom order, it is flagged that there wasn’t a shipping service selected but there is no where to do that on the initial form!

Re: Issues with creating custom orders
Someone else pointed out that they had to refund a custom order because when you use them there is no shipping profile attached.
Without a profile there is no estimated delivery date which can cause problems for the seller so don't use them until etsy fixes them (they might never fix them). Make a regular listing and indicate it's reserved for the buyer.
