Dear Etsy Support,
I have noticed an inconsistency in the statistics displayed for my shop. Specifically:
This discrepancy makes it difficult to accurately track my shop's performance and manage my business.
Could you please investigate this issue and provide guidance on how to resolve it? Let me know if you need any additional information or specific examples.
Thank you for your assistance.
There are 2 different statistics being reported
1) The "Sales" on your Shop Front are the actual number of individual items you have sold.
2) The "Orders" on the "Stats" Page are the number of "Orders" (including Orders with multiple items)
Additionally, the Revenue on the "Stats" Page excludes Shipping costs paid by the Buyer. That is why you are having difficulty "balancing the books". The "Revenue" on "Stats" will be less than the "Revenue" in Payment Account because Shipping is not included on the "Stats" report.
You need to use the information on the CSV in Finances / Payment Account Page to see real Revenue and Expenses.
You also need to download the Orders CSV from Shop Manager > Settings > Options > Download Data > Orders to see all activity.
Refunds do make accounting a bit more complex as you need to account for these differently, depending on the Accounting / Taxation system you use.
Just remember, Etsy is required to provide al the factual financial information, but Etsy is not required to provide you with any one statement which shows, in one place, your real Revenue and Expenditure. Even the "Current Net Profit" on the Payment Account is inaccurate as it only included Etsy Expenses, not your real expenses to produce the product and all associated costs.
This happens when an order has multiple items. There can be 3 sales (items) in 1 order.
Yes, I understand that. However, on the main shop management page, my revenue is displayed as for example $300. Meanwhile, under the Finances tab, my net profit is shown as $350. I don't have many orders with multiple items in a single order, so this discrepancy shouldn't be significant enough to cause such a difference in the statistics.

I don’t have shipping, as I sell digital products. However, the issue seems to have resolved itself after some time. It looks like there was some sort of glitch, but everything appears to be fine now. Thank you for your help!
