I'm reaching out to the Etsy forum community in the hopes of finding a solution to a technical issue I'm facing with the Etsy messaging system for my shop, TravelWithJoe.
I recently received a personalized order request from a customer via Etsy messages, but unfortunately, I am unable to respond due to a technical issue with the messaging system. I have tried accessing my messages on different devices and browsers, but the issue persists. I have also reached out to Etsy support regarding this matter, but I have yet to receive a response.
As a seller on Etsy, I understand the importance of timely communication with my customers and I am concerned that this issue may be affecting other potential sales and customer relationships.
If anyone has experienced a similar issue or has any advice on how to resolve this issue, I would be grateful for your help.

Were you sending messages to buyers who favorite your items/shop (which is spamming and not allowed)? Sending too many messages in a short period of time gets your messaging ability deactivated. You need to wait out the suspension, which can last as much as a couple weeks.
If you want help with a technical issue, you need to contact Etsy directly. Forums is only other sellers. We can't activate your messaging or fix a technical issue with it.
If you messaging capability has been muted, it's because you sent too many messages in a short period time.
Can you access the email from the arrow by the customer's name? If so, you could respond that way.
Etsy will mute your Messaging capability as a punishment, if you are contacting people when it is not directly related to processing their order. The first time is usually for a week, but if you keep doing it, they may ban your account. People have to sign up through a double opt in newsletter and agree to receive your emails, independent of Etsy, or it is considered spam, which is illegal.
Are you on a phone or PC? If PC, try another browser and see if the same issue is happening. I had issues with a Help request message and chatted with Etsy but they had to "look into it" and I haven't heard anything since.
