The last time reached out to chat was 3 weeks ago, but no etsy agent ever entered the chat.
I only received an email follow up, and the issue never got resolved and now they want to know how they did.
Not very well.
And now, here we go again, the chat is unresponsive once again.
Is this just happening to me, or are others also not getting a live chat anymore?

That's exactly what happened for me, a few weeks ago. Tried chat, waited a long time, ended up writing everything I wanted to say. Came back to see a response 4 hours later "Are you still there?". Next day, got an email from Support with an answer.
So if this happens, I suggest you at least write out everything in the chat box, even if there's nobody responding at the time. It appears somebody reads it, eventually!

Wow, the chat replied, and the buyer received her parcel almost simultaneously!
Phew.... my nerves.... lol.

thank you, I did so last time as well, but thy did not resolve my issue...
so this being the time before Christmas, I'm alarmed what will happen in the (hopefully happening) Christmas rush.

I had one more than a week ago about a customer who wanted to cancel the order and now did not want to receive it anymore after it had already been sent and wanted her payment back immediately.
I have waited more than 1 hour before someone responded to the chat.
And then during the chat I ask myself why I started a chat again, these almost always lead to frustration afterwards.
The Etsy customer service is veeeeeeery bad in my opinion.
Same with mails these are always answered with copy-and-paste answers.
On the phone we end up in a call center in Asia, this is the worst of all 3 but cheap for Etsy.
If I compare this with eBay in the past, I have to say that the customer service was very good, you were helped until the problem was solved. I don't know how it is now, I'm talking about a few years ago.
