Has anyone else received this message after getting their first sale. I just posted the item today that supposedly sold. I'm trying to find out if this is a scam or if this is how they do a first time sale to make sure it is you

@CharmsAndPearlsRea I'm sorry this isn't a real sale, your first. It's a scam.
Yes, it's a scam. And yes, it's happened to many other sellers in the past 4-5 months.
Note who it's supposedly from -- Suрроrt ᴱᵗˢʸ ˢᵗᵘᶠᶠ. Stuff it in your spam folder.

Suрроrt ᴱᵗˢʸ ˢᵗᵘᶠᶠ <----- first red flag.... it says stuff.
yes scamalamascam.
did you not see the HUGE message from etsy about fraud.
while you were reading that fraud scam message.
SCAM! This is one of those " increasing cases of fraud on the platform," that the scammer so thoughtfully points out. That message is not from Etsy, that link is not Etsy, and they aren't trying to protect you from anything.
Keep everything on Etsy, and stay safe.
YES it's a SCAM. That email isn't an Etsy email either.
Really "Etsy stuff" WTH is that?
Would Etsy ever send a message that states it comes from Etsy stuff? NEVER.
You have 0 sales.
If you have an order it will show on your order page.
You should have a banner on your message page warning you about this, unless of course you clicked "Ok I got it".
DO not give them your email, they will send you to a FAKE Etsy site to login and enter your bank account/CC info so they can steal ALL of your money.
ETA: think about it, WHY would Etsy need all this info again when you've already entered it?????

New sellers should read up on important info on getting paid, about scams, what can or cannot be sold here, fees, etc BEFORE ever opening a shop.

Etsy Payments is the main way to get paid on Etsy. With Etsy Payments, buyers can use most payment methods to purchase from your shop. You get direct deposits to your bank account.

Good catch! Yes, it’s a scam. New sellers are being targeted.
be sure to visit the forums regularly (several times a week at least) to stay up to date on all the things you’ll need to know to manage your shop.
Total scam! Do not click in the link.
Etsy does not need to verify that you are the “real owner of the payment method specified in the system” (WTF?!) Etsy verified you already, when you set up your shop, and the transaction goes straight through on the backend of Etsy without any input from you.
And the main giveaway, you haven’t actually made a sale as there is no sale showing on your main shop page.
Yes, this is a scam. If you had a real sale, it would show as a sale in your Dashboard, you never need to do anything to accept a sale. Send the message to spam and do not reply. Chances are Etsy has already caught the scam and remove d the scammers account, they have been quite quick about it lately. There is an article above the forums list about protecting your account from scammers. I recommend you read it. These scams tend to target new sellers with no sales because the figure they won't know the ins and outs of Etsy yes, well done you for picking up on the scam so quickly.
Those scammers are everywhere. I have been selling on Etsy with my first store since May and didn't get this when I got my first sale. I just opened this store the beginning of this month and wasn't sure if they changed things.
And they listed two different order numbers in the message. It's good that you came here first to ask, I can't imagine how many didn't and just clicked the link.
@CharmsAndPearlsRea I'm sorry this isn't a real sale, your first. It's a scam.
Thank you. I figured it was a scam. I was just checking to see if Etsy changed things on a first sale
If it isn't in your orders it didn't happen!
You posted the item today? I am sorry to hear it. If you clicked the link and gave out your bank information, contact your bank right away before the scammers clean out your account.
Good point. I took that to mean the OP only posted the listing today, and then got the message, but I could be wrong (just ask my husband, lol).
Ah, I see what you are saying. I surely could be the one who got it wrong (happens all the time). If it meant posted the listing on Etsy, then it sounds like the OP is OK.
Luckily I didn't click the link. I have another Etsy store and didn't get this when I got a first sale on my other account but I opened that account in May. I recently opened the account for my second store that I'm on now and just wasn't sure it they changed things.
I just got scammed with this!! I feel incredibly stupid! Now I'm out so much money
Don't feel stupid. They are very clever.
