All day it has shown the number 2 where I have new orders or messages and when I go to look these's nothing there. Very odd. After I look it goes away but if I reload my page or close the page and come back it's there again.
@ZiaDesignDungeon: Are you having this issue using an Etsy app (on which operating system) or via mobile browser or desktop browser (which browser and operating system)? It makes a difference as to possible causes and potential solutions, otherwise we have to guess.
@BagmakerSupply Hello, I'm using my laptop. Windows 10, Chrome
@ZiaDesignDungeon: If you are referring to the number(s) on the shop home page they can refer to many things. We find that the "safest" method is just to have a separate browser tab open for messages and for orders and check them periodically. As @Amaradorn said, there are many issues that we need to find workarounds for.
Etsy has lots of bugs. Check your orders page and your messages periodically. A dot might also indicate a message from Etsy on your dashboard. Otherwise I wouldn't worry about it, annoying as it is.
Most of the time it's some message that Etsy has posted on your Dashboard page they want you to look at it or dismiss it by clicking on the X that comes up on the right side of the message.
I've gotten in the habit of clicking on my orders to check for new ones as I no longer always get an orange number when new orders come in, it just stays gray. Annoying, but it is what it is.
@BagmakerSupply yes I know it can be for other things I'm using that as a example for the area. The problem is after I check for those things and nothing is there, the number goes away and is gone until I reload the page, close the page and come back and the number is there again!
@ZiaDesignDungeon: Try a <CTRL><F5> to force the browser to reload the cache for that page. Perhaps there is some bit of old info that is sticking ...
I seem to get that occasionally and it’s sometimes just notifications from shops I follow and goes away if I look at their shop?
