No it’s a scam
Also apple play doesn’t exist
Mark as SPAM this is a well talked about and documented scam on the forums. Do not any external click links or reply.
@CraftVintage90 - Do read this thread & links to other threads & articles on the problem:
@JMOldeVintage It's become increasingly clear that Sellers are not seeing the updated Help page re: Scams (including how to get to it). And Etsy won't place an Announcement in Seller's Dashboard.
@ChillwolfArt - There is even a thread started today that HerrMustache (I know I didn't spell his name correctly) replied in - to advise some one who mentioned in their post that they received an email from Etsy stating their servers were down.
The scammers are sending emails saying Etsy's servers are down?? This can only go downhill fast since you just know any info. a shop owner would supply to help get their shop "straightened out on Etsy's servers" opens the door to hacking & more.
@JMOldeVintage Yes, I saw that Thread and agree with you.
This happened to me just 10 minutes ago! I clicked their link, they wanted me to make a payment, I refused and contacted my bank. My bank told me this is scam.
I have been getting these messages also. The "potential" buyer contacts me and then says they cannot make the payment and ask me to send them my email address. I have never sent them my email address, I have seen similar "scams" on other websites. Someone tried the "I need your email address" scam on me yesterday on Etsy, I moved their messages to SPAM. My biggest issue right now is that since last night I am locked out of my account by Etsy due to suspicious activity so I wonder if that individual was trying to access or change my accounts password.
Of course, I have opened a ticket with Etsy asking why my account is not accessible and how and when I will get access again. Total silence from Etsy! My shop on Etsy is my main income so I am very very concerned!
So sorry this is happening to you. Etsy does not answer quickly even when it is something urgent like this. Their customer service is seriously lacking.
@WhatTheWolfSaw I'm very sorry this is happening to you. And that you are getting zero support from Etsy thus far. It's up to you, but I would "at" Admin HerrMoostache in this Thread. I hope this is soon resolved for you.
A buyer does not need your email to complete a payment.
It's a scam to steal your money.
All a shopper has to do is add to cart and check out and pay.
Another clue if this was a legit sale, you'd show a sale on your order page.
Right now you show 0 sales.
The scammers just want your email to send you to a FAKE Etsy site and get you to enter your banking and credit card #'s so they can steal money from you.
