Is anyone else having trouble publishing new listings?

I have a batch of new pendants to list and this is my first time trying out Etsy's new listing format. Unfortunately, I can't seem to publish anything. I jump through all the hoops, making sure everything's filled out, but when I click "Publish", I keep getting the message: 

Hm, we’re having trouble saving your changes. Try again, and if this keeps happening contact Etsy Support.

Why fix what wasn't broken in the first place? I don't see how this new format is superior to the old one (which worked just fine!).

I had this problem trying to publish and got the mmm message last night and gave up.  This morning I was going to try again but I could not even sign into my account now.  As far as I know I did nothing wrong and I did not change anything. I completely agree, it's difficult now to list or even understand why it won't publish. Very frustrating

The new listing format is giving me fits. It wont load photos on the first try, & keeps bumping back to previous options when you try to move ahead. THIS IS NOT USER FRIENDLY! Etsy, please change it back or fix it and get the bugs out before you make it permanent. This is awful. I even deleted my seller App and re installed and it still wont work right. It is taking me 3 times as long to try and add new listings.

I was wondering if everyone else is having issues listing their products on  Etsy. It's driving me crazy. I can't keep on trying to use this. I was looking on here to see what new platform everyone else is planning to sell on. No way can I spend over 30 minutes trying to post a listing. I have several items a week to post and this is too time consuming for me. It freezes up on each page, several minutes of hitting next to try to get it to go to the next page. They either need to go back to the old way of listing or I gotta close shop and find a new platform. But this is absolute garbage! It was a great site until they decided to change the way you list.

Yes!  I just saw this thread.  I'm having the exact same problem.  The new listing tool is a real problem.  I'm now beginning to be concerned this problem won't be resolved.

The apparent workaround of using the old form is apparently going away on June 24. The new form (much like the beta version of the form) is not faster, more intuitive, or in most ways better than the old form. I have tried clearing cookies, removing the alt text, etc. as suggested above and Etsy will still not allow me to update re-listings; I just get the same error that everyone else is reporting. Hopefully, they push the sunset date on the old form until they actually get the new one to work correctly. I don't think any of the developers or support folks look at these forums so we are all just yelling into the vacuum.

I have been regularly reporting to Etsy Support by phone that I can only list briefly at best. When I report this (and **always** ask for the Support Ticket to truly document these Support reports) I also emphasize that Marketing might wish to read the Forums because sellers internationally are indeed responding.  I was told that this would be sent on to Marketing as well.   

I am also spreading the word here with other sellers that I know locally.   Again, tough PR for Etsy in the long run.  Sellers do remember these "glitchy" times that cause us days of wasted time and loss of customers/sales.  Obviously, their search engine is not picking up our listings!

yeah this is a pain - the banner on all my listings saying "update needed" is annoying but I can't make any changes to my listings without getting that message.  I have a website as well so I need to reconcile stock counts between the two sites and currently the only way to do it on Etsy is with quick edit.  I honestly didn't mind the new format that bad from a functionality standpoint except for it's glitchiness.

I had "update needed" on all my listings. What I needed to do was update my shipping profiles. Etsy finally added Ground Advantage to the profiles and I had to click it on for each shipping profile. That got rid of the update banner.

I was also having this problem. Perhaps it was only a coincidence, but my listing finally published once I removed quotation marks from my alt text. Sharing in case it helps anyone.

@UpcycledCrayonFavors: Your solution appears to be the correct one as that entry field seems to only accept alpha numeric characters and Etsy has not implemented any error checking to alert users.

I also had this problem ...trying to add listings with my phone.

Then I logged on at my laptop and there I saw a bunch of previous listings with an error message (this didn't show up on my phone) ..the message was that I had to update the return policy for these listings. I did that with just a couple of "clicks" and after that I was able to list more items without any error message.

A year? And still all these problems? And it goes live and impossible not to use in 10 days?

I agree.  Yes, like you, I remember this happening a year ago.  I had not added much to my shop back then because of very serious health issues.  But, now, I have decided to enlarge my shop considerably, adding at least 2x, if not 3x, the inventory.  I have earmarked my time presently to do this now and I am shocked that this is still the same sad story as what was a year ago. I believe I will earmark protesting to Etsy to try to be heard, since I cannot list.  I pay Etsy quite well when there are sales.  I expect more, just as they expect me to pay them and do what they demand consistently!

I had the same problem. I decided to switch my browser to duck duck Go and it works now. I've tried everything else but this is working. Hope it works for you. P.S. I was using my Android phone at the time for publishing.

I just added a listing using the new form. I had no problem. Even went back to edit a misspelled word and had no problem fixing the listing. Still don't like it though.

Hello again, everyone.  I am updating my posts here to say that for the first time in nearly 2 weeks, I am able to publish on the New Form.  Yes, there were glitches but they were minor.  For instance, I could not load all ten photographs at once without a red trashcan error showing.  So, I went back and added each photograph one by one and saved each one out, returning to the listing to edit it all that many times.  I had other edits that also required changes, but these, like @CatsBeadKitsandMore stated, went through flawlessly.  As we are all wondering: will this truly be fixed on time?  I can promise that I am going to be grumpy about this for a long time to come regardless.  Etsy really needs to be more kind to their sellers, please!  Finally, thank you to each and every one for commenting and offering support and solid advice!  This Forum experience has been worthwhile.  Best wishes!
