Is Etsy refunding with credit now?

Is Etsy refunding with credit now?

My buyer was refunded with Etsy credit instead of money going back on her card when her order went missing in the post. I am the one who issued the refund, yet she got credit instead. Is this a new policy or something? Was there an announcement that I missed?

This is the second issue in a week making things difficult for buyers here. First they can't make purchases on Cyber Monday and now they can't get a deserved refund to their payment method. None of this helps to attract and keep buyers or does anything towards good will. It's really a shame. Buyers shouldn't be test subjects for new policies. Time to hire new coders.

Hi,please try to report the feedback,because this is a message for you,but for Etsy.I had a similar situation,where I got a star because the buyer got fed up with me constantly demanding to leave feedback,and was angry.Etsy removed it.It's not a problem when the seller is insulted,but when Etsy is insulted...well that's a problem...

I received a refund minus shipping for a defective item.  Seller told me to go to my local PO to collect the shipping (on Seller's DEFECTIVE item) because it was insured.  I didn't bother, because it would have been a huge hassle for a few bucks - which would have gone to the seller because they paid shipping.  Etsy didn't give me a choice but told me my partial refund would be an Etsy credit.  It was all a big hassle when I was in the middle of more important things and I'm just now getting around to try to spend my Etsy credit - but I have not been able to find it.  What a lousy way to treat customers!
