I added tracking for several orders today on time, ship by date was today. They all say Pre-Transit with "Buyer notification scheduled for Sep 2, 2022" and below that on each order where it shows the tracking link it says "ships tomorrow" even for ones that actually shipped out days ago and when I open the orders the shipping section actually shows In Transit, and the order shows shipping updates like normal, except at the bottom says ships tomorrow. I've never seen this before and it sounds like it's going to mark my orders in transit tomorrow after it's considered late... Anyone else experiencing this?
*update* it's showing every order is already counting against my star seller badge. smh...
@VibeEnvy : Etsy relies on a third party vendor for tracking (and tracking number validation) and uses the data on the order. Often recent shipments are not updated for a day or two. If the shipper is supported by Etsy make sure that the shipped date, tracking number and shipping company show correctly on the actual order.
Everything is correct and the same as it always is inside the order, done everything the same way, but etsy seems to be triggering in transit in "their" system (even though shipping states it's officially in transit for days) only after a vehicle/driver scan apparently even though tracking shows movement between distribution centers, at one point the tracking shows "picked up by 4PX" which then triggers etsy's in transit status, and the package immediately continues to more stops (exactly like the ones that didn't count) before reaching an airport and flying to the usa. Before, when it would be given to the shipping company and it literally starts moving in the shipping system, it would consider that in transit, or if the shipping clearly states "in transit" like it does in this case it would only say pre-transit when the status was only that shipment info was received or label was created, any steps beyond that are literally in the shipping companies hands and moving in transit, this used to count when it went passed that first status and now as of i guess yesterday my orders no longer count in transit until they've been in transit for days, gone through several locations and scans until they get just the right scan that makes etsy happy. If there's any shipping delays prior to this specific scan now it will go into extending how late my ship by date was missed when it was actually shipped early. Or extend my processing times to falsely include the multiple days of shipping that don't count and watch my sales drop for killing my processing times and turning customers off, dropping in search... or leave it alone, let my shipping score suffer and still get lower in search... or worse get a reserve because etsy thinks i'm not shipping on time.
It's so exhausting constantly trying to figure out what's wrong with everything you're doing right...
Update, my ss rating is back to 100% for shipping, these orders got corrected I guess and no longer show as shipped without tracking or count against me. It still shows the ship date was the 2nd when the deadline was the 1st the morning tracking was added and actually shipped days before.
@VibeEnvy : An additional factor at play here is that Etsy uses UTC for most things, but many "reports" are based on your time zone. August 31 to you may be September 1 to Etsy. Also, looking at other posts in this forum it seems that the last few days of a month routinely get rolled into the next month when doing Star Seller calculations.
I live in the USA, i didn't say anything about the 31st, this all happened on the 1st after the month had already changed, ship by date was the 1st but didn't count the order until the 2nd. I've added tracking to orders a day or two before deadlines so that the tracking can be counted during the month that was ending toward my calculations and it never rolled anything over because it was the last day of the month (but i didn't do that this time, this all happened in september). I didn't lose my badge, i wasn't worried about it affecting prior months calculations, i was looking at the current stats for right now which showed several orders against me which it no longer does.
I added tracking to orders today, that are in the exact same position the others were, in transit between facilities except today there's no problems with etsy accepting these as in transit right away. Basically the problem is fixed, due date was today, ship date says today, it doesn't say buyer is scheduled a notice for a different date and it is prior to the update that triggered the other orders to be accepted.
So as I expected, i did everything right like I usually do and everything should have worked if it wasn't for some glitch which doesn't seem to be happening now.
@VibeEnvy: We see those kinds of inconsistencies all the time - it really seems like it all depends on when or if AfterShip (Etsy's third party vendor for tracking) updates shipping status.
