Incorrect Message Response Rate

Hello fellow Etsy friends

I hope you all are having a wonderful day/year/life! Today, I'm asking for a little help before I pull out the rest of my hair because my kids already claimed the last of it, lol. My message response rate dropped from 100% to 90% today, and I'm trying not to have a major freak-out, but wow, it hurts being helpless and knowing I did nothing wrong. I knew I was checking and responding to every message within the 24-hour time frame because I'm shooting for star seller status. I checked again to see if I missed any messages, and as suspected, I replied to everyone within a few hours (yup, I'm desperately trying to earn my stars and succeed here). I read up on the forum (thank you guys for always leaving positive and helpful answers for shy folks like me to read and learned how to download my messages/information, and the only message I responded to late was from 5/22/25. That was a customer thanking me for their order, and that was counted that month. I remember because that's what cost me star seller status for that month! It's haunting me like a bad dream. If anyone has some advice or wants to share how you took this hit without crying like the big baby I am, I surely appreciate it.

star seller is counted over the last 3 months, so that message will still count when the calculation is done at end July, as that calculation is for May, June, and July

It will drop off, when the calculation is done at end August, as that will not count May

....

I wouldn't worry about it, I lost my star seller for 3 months when a person gave me a one star review on my knitting pattern, saying they couldn't use it, as they couldn't knit .... it gives me a chuckle now

things happen, your customer is happy,  I would take yourself outdoors and spend the time looking for more great finds

I have had Star Seller a grand total of 5 months since it was introduced nearly 5 years ago.  It has made no difference to my sales whether I have it or not.  As long as you are still meeting the less stringent Customer Service Standards, it won't matter.
